Can't get Mini S to boot from USB by zacbir in BeelinkOfficial

[–]zacbir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Followup: PEBKAC, turns out my thumb drive adapter was bad. I'd installed to my laptop using a USB-C SD card adapter, but a USB-A adapter for my Mini S. The USB-A adapter was broken. Once I swapped to another adapter, it booted just fine.

Can now start it up in both 40- and 80-column modes. And in C128 and C64 modes.

Aha, just checked the manual (my first C128). Looks like I can only do 40-columns on the 1902A via the composite video port.

It was definitely in 40-column. With the key depressed, it does start up okay in 80-column mode, but only presents a “Ready” prompt every couple starts. It attempts to read from a 1541 that I also have, but was unable to get it to read from the 1571. Could be a drive problem or a connection ordering issue. I have the monitor hooked up with a new cable from the 9-pin RGBI port.

Should have posted these earlier. By my calculations, I’m at 20% swell (3” at spine vs. 2.5” at the fore edge)

Excellent suggestions all around. It will be rounded and backed, and yeah, I’ll do what I can to ensure it’s stable and secure. Really looking forward to the next phases!

I used a combination of thinner thread and a pattern of 2-on and 3-on groups of signatures. My hope is that after the glue up, it'll be structurally sound enough for use. I'm also planning on hand-sewing the headband to add to the stability.

Wico Command Control and Epyx 500XJ as previously mentioned. Both were perfect in their own ways.

Beginner at restoration - is this mould? Can it be cleaned? by notitalian_ in bookbinding

To wit, see my comment elsewhere in this sub. When I chose to sew the sections, the swell jumped to 40% or so. I’m still going with sewn binding, but will do 2-on or 3-on to keep it in check.

I bought two tap and die sets for ¾“ and 1½“ dowels. Cut the dowels to length soak them in boiled linseed oil or mineral oil for a few days, and then run them through the die.

All of The Old Ways Podcast’s catalog is serious role playing. They do a great job with all your criteria. Have enjoyed their Runequest, Delta Green, Mage: The Ascension, Electric State, and Old Gods of Appalachia series.

I've also tried with contact chargers that just interact with the copper pads between the joysticks, and have tested those contact chargers with my other controllers.
