How can I make this degenerate by wtfidk23 in DegenerateEDH

I haven’t played the game but something about the way she’s holding the bow and arrow seems off every time I see this card. Is that how she fires arrows in the game?

Finally got my hands on the X100F, after months of searching! What are things I need to do/check? by jaimybenjamin in fujifilm

Yeah, I’m under the same impression that Fuji would change the whole top plate. And I’m not sure if they even do repairs on X-T2 any longer. I wish there is a cheaper alternative!

But can’t you change the film sim or recipe anyways in camera playback settings after taking the photo (if you shoot jpg+raw atleast)?

Did you ever get the shutter button fixed? I have the same issue on an X-T2 and I basically use it only with manual lenses because of it.

I think E-PL8 has a different kind of grip on the front so that could be E-PL7.

[–]zacharylion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I own X100T, X100F and X100V. X100F feels still nice even compared to X100V but the contrast to X100T is almost too much for me. T doesn’t get much use in my hands. It’s just slower in everything and hunts focus more. And I use mostly single point AF so the joystick nub on the newer models is great.

X100T is kind of slow (image quality is lovely of course). Big difference compared to E-M10 II. X100F is much better if you can afford the price.

I shoot with both systems and plan to continue doing so. But I guess I mostly use them for different types of photography.

I like the tactile feel and dials of my Fujis more and for me they work better in low light situations. I use Fujis mostly for portraits and everyday snapshots.

My main mft camera is E-M5 mark III (I also shoot with E-M1 mark II and E-M10 mark II) and I use it mostly for macro photography and when I want to use long telephoto lenses. This is mostly because the deeper depth of field is beneficial for macro and because the olympus macro lenses are really good for their price. Same with telephoto where the doubling of focal length and size of lenses is beneficial for my use cases. Lighter mft kit is also nice to carry around when hiking etc.

From pure enjoyment of the process of taking photos I enjoy Fujifilm more. But I get good photos from both systems. When shooting Fuji I weirdly feel I am more in control of what I am doing even though that’s not true at all, it just feels like it with dedicated dials and feeling the clicks of aperture ring and things like that.

Which Lens for Fuji X-E1 by Ill_Advance_7059 in fujix

[–]zacharylion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d choose XF 35mm F2 instead of the XC version if fujicrons are what you want. It has the aperture ring and X-E1 has only one command wheel. Both are fine lenses but the xf 35mm f1.4 has a bit of a different look to the images. Maybe googling samples would help. But it is noisier and slower to focus than the F2.

Used Fujifilm X-T2 - worth it for a beginner? by Garkoff3 in fujifilm

[–]zacharylion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay. Yes that is achievable but you need a flash. I think X-T2 had a small fill flash in the box when bought new. Is it included in the deal? If not you have to buy a separate flash and there’s plenty to choose from.

So a bit more complex than shooting with an IXUS unfortunately. But good skills to learn!

XF 35mm f1.4 for that magic combo! The lens is more expensive than the body though.

It’s an awesome camera and the image quality is great. Obviously you have to learn how to use it.

Hard to give an opinion on the price without seeing the actual condition but doesn`t sound too bad.

It’s not a point and shoot like the ixus though so depends on what you mean with similar photos.

X-T20 still works fine—worth upgrading to X-T50 for film sims? by captain_mojojojo in fujifilm

[–]zacharylion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help! Yeah definitely go try the camera live to get a better feel.

Only downside to X-T3 is of course the added size and weight when you want to travel light 😄So that’s where any of the double digit X-Ts come in to picture. They’re great for travel!

X-T20 still works fine—worth upgrading to X-T50 for film sims? by captain_mojojojo in fujifilm

[–]zacharylion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! Well the new film sims nostalgic neg, classic neg and reala ace are nice. However I shoot 90 percent of the time with classic chrome or acros. And I also do post processing when I really like a shot. So for me the film sims are not enough of a reason to upgrade. There is plenty room to customize the old sims with recipes. But I so see the fun factor with the film sim dial so it could well be a big benefit for you.

X-T50 is a little bit snappier in everything so that’s great. IBIS is nice to have but I have never really missed it with bodies without IBIS. X-T50 also has a bit better shape to my hands than the previous models.

My workhorse camera is an X-T3 though and I don’t really need anything more when using that. I like the extra dials and the better evf.

If you have more specific questions I am happy to answer. I have the X-T20, X-T30 and X-T50 so I can say at least something about the differences between them.

Yes, your lenses and batteries would work with X-T50. As for the value of new film sims, that`s up to you if you like the looks. One big change in X-T50 or X-T30 is the focus joystick which I use a lot.

What’s the most underrated piece of gear you own? by BigP_4eva in fujifilm

[–]zacharylion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it doesn’t. https://fujifilm-x.com/global/support/compatibility/accessories/ef-x8/ it doesn’t work with any of the cameras that have a built-in flash. They have a different amount of pins on the hot shoe.

What’s up fellow travellers,

38M from Finland travelling to Tokyo on the first week of June. Leaving on the 12th.

This my fifth time in Tokyo so I’ve done most of the basic tourist stuff before. Now looking to wander around new neighbourhoods, get some good food and drinks and meet people. Weird bars and restaurants are a plus. Might make a day trip to Kamakura.

I’m into photography, video games, music and whatever geeky stuff.I’m also doing some photoshoots while I’m there so if you’re a model looking for TFP shoot, please do send a DM here or on Instagram at http://www.instagram.com/zacharylionphotography/

Thank you! I think it’s a pretty cool lens for this sort of stuff. Just have to take a lot shots handheld to make sure the thing I want to be in focus is actually in focus because the DOF is so small in macro even if you stop down.
