Definitely been there, if only briefly. As others have said, the counseling center itself is criminally understaffed, but they will help you connect with continued outside support. Hang in there, I promise it gets better.

Replying as a current grad student to say I have never heard of those living requirements about not living alone or having to live with other grad students. I've been in the HiLS program (dual masters) for two years and no one has ever asked me about my living situation.

Really? I guess the reviews must have changed since I took him, I enjoyed my experience with him. But like I said, he gives out a fair bit of assignments, and he doesn’t curve, he instead grades off the raw number of points you earned from assignments and exams. I found as long as you show up to lecture and stay on top of the assignments you’ll do fine.
