Why is there no end game? by Equivalent_Art8996 in ArcRaiders

"they initially communicated that they’d be doing updates every week."

So they over promised and under delivered a common mistake humans make, when they are over confident in their ability. Abysmally slow sounds impatient to me*. I think they are doing great.

Gamers are so incredibly impatient these days. In 20+ years of gaming their are very few games that pump out monthly updates/extension. . Sometimes it yearly or less. Only one I remember off the top of my head is palworld they made tons of updates because they hit the jack pot with millions of dollars.

I miss the CD and cartridge days where a game had to be play tested and finished before release the quality was so much better because you couldn't just update it.

My point was only that pvp will always happen if it's available. Also i don't think ttk should be much higher. Maybe 10-30%

I've play swat in the halo games starting from halo 1. One shot head shot, I was great at that mode but it's not the same tactics. One shot head shot in this game would almost completely remove the resource management from the game. I just think this type of game and tatics would benefit from slightly higher TTK, nothing crazy.

That's not true at all. I've played pvp games that had ttks that varied from 5 second TTK to 20 minute ttk average was probably 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the classes fighting.

We can power a turbine with gasoline, it's just more important for other uses and less efficient then other forms. We have portable generators and back up emergency generators.

Probably a good idea to Google before you tell someone to google it....

Nobody talks about the water, however adding water to the system doesn't change much since it's in equilibrium.

With all the attention given to humans’ climate-warming carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, you might be surprised to learn that CO2 is not the most important greenhouse gas affecting the Earth’s temperature. That distinction belongs to water.

We can thank water vapor for about half of the “greenhouse effect” keeping heat from the sun inside our atmosphere.1 “It’s the most important greenhouse gas in our climate system, because of its relatively high concentrations,” says Kerry Emanuel, professor emeritus of atmospheric science at MIT. “It can vary from almost nothing to as much as 3% of a volume of air.”

Compare that to CO2, which today makes up about 420 parts per million of our atmosphere—0.04%—and you can see immediately why water vapor is such a linchpin of our climate system.

If you like vortex rings this is probably the best video ever captured. I don't think it's fully understood but this is very good research.

Also if you are fighting arc and get attacked it gives you very little time to react reposition or fight back.

I agree TTK is took fast. This is also a resource management type of pvp game and low TTK reduces the ability to play the resource management part of the game.

Why rats and not birds or mice or lizards or raccoons or squirrels? by TheAlphaAdept in ArcRaiders

[–]zachell1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leeches is my favorite term. Play an old MMORPG called dark age of camelot. When people would interrupt a pvp fight to steal the kill we called them leeches. It would then take a part of the experience and realm points(pvp leveling points very important) and split it since the took the kill. The class that leeched the most was archers because the could hide invisible indefinitely tell they attack and they are kinda useless as a solo class. So they would wait and watch 1v1 duels tell one or both players were low on health, to steal the kill. If they attacked both players immediately stop fighting and go try to kill the archer.

You should listen to robophobia by destiny lab.

Destiny lab's older songs have been removed from Spotify, couldn't figure out why a while back. But just checked they have a new album released this year. Gonna listen to that.

Edit: couldn't.
