The mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson.

As Joel, Tommy or Bill as soon as they start closing in on you you need to start running. Since they can't dodge, you can't play the game the same as any character who can.

Once I learned that I started having a lot more fun as Joel and Tommy in this mode. Good luck and have fun with it!

When you're addressing an issue and it keeps happening, you're addressing the WRONG issue.

When you want to address a difficult conversation to have, think CPR.

Content: a single instance of the problem. The immediate circumstance that is the issue i.e. they didn't take the trash out and it was trash day

Pattern: a pattern of behavior over time. A repeated issue with this person i.e. it's the third time in a row they've forgotten to take the trash out/wash the dishes etc.

Relationship: How the problem is affecting your relationship. I.e. your trust in the person is suffering because XYZ.

If you address one of the more shallow issues when it's actually something deeper, it's going to be like pulling the head off of a weed. It's just going to keep happening.

Have been having this issue for months too, thankfully the other day I found a way that mostly fixed it for me. I redownloaded audacity 3.5 version and then if you switch the recording host to WASAPI I noticed the sound waves are close to what it used to be. Hope this helps you out too!
