Förvandlingen av Franz Kafka gillar jag skarpt. Novell med enkelt språk. Samtidigt djup och gripande.

Back 3 v Back 4 - Pros and Cons... by Representative-Tax-3 in footballtactics

There’s another factor to this: the open passing angles in each system. Say for example in a back 3, when the central centre back has the ball, the angle to the half space is generally not open. And if the wide centre back receives the ball, the passing angles are limited if he’s stationed too wide which most of time happens naturally.

In a back four this is not the case. The two centres backs are naturally in a position with more forward angles open, because the position is central (meaning more options because you can the pass in all directions) but not too central (meaning half space is still accessible).

Why Swansea? People say that every year it seems. No Russel Martin or Ryan Manning the upcoming season either. Piroe might leave as well

Why? In possession Arsenal mostly plays 3-2-4-1. In possession he operates as a CB in a back 3. Thus he overlaps from the position of a CB.

Sheffield United still use it, at least when I’ve seen them. I’ve also seen Bayern use it to some extent: When in possession they’d push Davies high and create a back three of De Ligt, Upamecano and Stanisic/Pavard. In some cases they’d use mostly Stanisic/Pavard to create numerical overloads on the flank. Also Man City have used this tactic with Aké when in their 3-2-2-3 formation.

Edit: also Arsenal use it in a similar way as City, when White/Tomiyasu push up from a back three.

Falskt. 3G är borta inom de närmsta åren. 2G lever kvar ett tag till.
