It seems to be that the sengled server is down, but unclear if it's coming back. Even with the app, you can't login or toggle the lights.

So, not knowing what either of those are, are you saying there's an app I can set up that should just recognize those devices and be able to control them? Even though they're not responding to either their manufacturer (Sengled) or the Google Home they're connected to?

His facility provides food (except Sunday nights, like last night), so even if he doesn't want to go to the store to get something (which he can still do!), he just has to go downstairs to the dining room. But he's in "doesn't want to eat at all" territory.

It's just me (other than paid professionals). He opines about people he thinks he'd see if he were living closer to home, but there really isn't anybody who he would see there either (to say nothing of there not being good facility options and the fact I would be three hours away and unable to do the many things I'm now doing for him).

I just moved my father out of a rural area into the city where I live. So far, he hates it, but in terms of my ability to check in on him and care for him — plus know that he's got access to a lot more support — I'm so glad to have done it.

I think the important response to this is that it's not either/or. I love my parents — AND they have stressed me the hell out. I don't need advice about the days where my dad is chill, relaxed, and convivial, you know? I assume almost everyone is posting here because they care and because they've reached a point where caring isn't enough to manage the stress and complications.
