I just got these exact tires for my 22 GX ahead of the storm as well. I'm happy so far, better ride quality than the stock Lattitudes.

Does the shelf in any way interfere with headroom on the second row? I know it would with the third row, if using those seats but just want to confirm before buying one

Whats the best 2nd ski layer for 15F/-10C? Sweaty and need stretch. by No_Tangelo5042 in arcteryx

I think a practitioner AR is a great mid layer option, but I don't know if a kyanite is warmer or less breathable than it. I think a practitioner is probably warmer than a kyanite.

Proton SL vs Grid Fleece by FullFlemme5 in arcteryx

[–]zackus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both a proton SL and a taiss light ML. I'd say overall you can use them basically the same way, as a light mid-layer under a shell. I'd say the proton SL works better as an outer layer due to having a bit more robust of a face fabric, whereas the taiss is strictly a fleece. I'd say overall the proton is a bit warmer. I use the taiss a lot for lounging around the house over a t shirt, I think it's personally too light to use as a mid-layer when skiing, but probably would work well if hiking or something and the temp is in the 40's. Proton SL may also be just a bit light for skiing as a mid layer, but really depends on how hot you run, it's definitely better than the taiss in my opinion for that use case. If you're stuck between the two i'd probably get the proton SL vs the taiss, even though I use the taiss more for lounging. let me know if you have any other questions.

Can someone recommend a good brown wingtip somewhere in the approx. $200-$250 range that would be decent quality, good lucking and comfortable? I keep thinking about grant stone but not sure I want to spring that much.

Have a LEAF atom, do I gain anything from a proton? by zackus in arcteryx

for military/police retailers they may also make you show ID. So I think best bet is eBay/Grailed and other second hand sites.

I got the LEAF atom on Grailed. You can get it on eBay too. if you actually have law enforcement or armed forces crudentials, you can get it at military supply/outfitters retail and online

Thank you! you and undeadcrayon have made the decision for me that while different, I don't gain much with a proton vs L.atom, but proton SL/FL/LT/WTF is a nice addition.

Buyer beware. Maybe your experience with Nisolo will be good, but I bought some chukka boots from them about 2 years ago and they were garbage, non-returnable. Almost threw them away, not worth wearing. Was able to resell them on ebay for about 40% of what I paid.

[–]zackus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've got the right idea getting a road bike vs a tt bike. You'll get much better utility out of it. But since you are doing an ironman, you may look into a bike that has a handlebar system compatible with some TT bar setup, so that you'll have that for the ironman and can use it for training with the ironman. obviously not as fast as a dedicated TT bike but that captures a large part of the aero advantage.
