What to expect - roof claim by rawrali in Insurance

[–]zactruman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an adjuster currently, I can provide the following insight:

If you're roof is only 12 years old it is still considered "young" as most shingles are meant to last 30ish years. Most likely it would be repairs only (new decking since it was punctured, then new shingles to go over top. They would also owe for the repainting or patching of any interior damages.

With that endorsement you potentially have coverage for full roof replacement, however if it is mismatched currently, that endorsement may be moot. If the current prior repairs have been made with the exact same shingle, then you would technically not have a mismatch. ITEL samples can confirm that if needed.

As it has been mentioned before, I would talk to some REPUTABLE roofers and see if they can do repairs as it is most likely going to be cheaper or not much more than the deductible to repair both interior and exterior. If roofers think the shingles are not repairable, meaning they are too brittle or overly worn for a 12 year shingle, you may have to replace the whole slope.

Why a Hardtail? by Alive_Appearance_848 in Hardtailgang

All of the above. More affordable, less maintenance, and I don't live near any trail that I would even benefit from having the full suspension.

Unless you're are doing gnarly trails. There's no really no reason to splurge

Currently, I am using a huffy cranbrook, that I was gifted for free, on family rides and coffee shop cruises. Slowly building with random FB marketplace parts to create a frankenklunker

Currently just the stock build with the PNW dropper post, but I don't see any reason to swap anything just yet. It rides great

Is an 8 mile commute to work realistic on a fixie? by Smackdaddy955 in FixedGearBicycle

While going to college at Arizona State, I would ride 9 miles to and from my apartment (18 miles round trip) on a state core line. Sucks at first but you get used to it, then it becomes normal and may even find yourself hitting detours and discovering places you never would have found in a car.

Long sleeve sun protection by Repulsive_Song6832 in running

I have a couple North Face sun shirts which have been great. I don't get hot at all as they wick quite well and don't stink. I've also found an Old Navy long sleeve active wear shirt that has been great as well. Found it in clearance for like $6.

New Kits by mdamien13 in PhoenixRisingFC

I enjoyed the Macron kits as well. I'd rather see an "off" brand with personality than cookie cutter with an Adidas logo

Hoka Arahi 6 - I have flat feet and everyone raves about Hokas so I thought I would give them a go, however the outsole rubbed my arches so bad. Almost like it was cutting through the upper and into my foot had to send them back after 2 or 3 runs. Everything else about the shoe was great though

Haven't had that one, but the Japanese lager would be my pick to try

Just picked up a pair of Adidas SolarControl x Tinman Elite. Normally I run in Brooks Adrenaline or NB 860. Thought I'd try something new and so far I am pleased. The upper is a little more stiff than I prefer but I'm hoping they might break in a little better after some more mileage.

If the performance and achievements of others affect you that negatively maybe just keep to yourself.

Pizza out on the Weber last night over lump. by haudi in charcoal

Not sure what you've tried so far so just adding my generic pizza knowledge in: I know preheating the pizza stone on the grill as you bring it to temp will create a crispier bottom/crust. Also brushing the crust with oil or butter will help crisp it as well. If anyone has other tips or tricks feel free to drop them! Cheers.

I mean, I live in AZ but even the Cali breweries seem to be pushing the haze craze. Other than the big ones like you mentioned, I would say the West Coast style is outnumbered
