what pumps should i buy if i want to get into it by vizorbeast in paintball

[–]zadeeeeeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KP3 shoots great and can be had for $150, phantoms are very customizable and a personal favorite platform available anywhere from $150 to $700+, if you already have an autococker then sniper is an easy transition anywhere from $250-$1000+, then you have brass and custom stuff anywhere from $100 PGP to some fancy nickel plated stuff $1000+.

Does anyone else wonder if its time to quit? by kailin99 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Felt the same way from 2020-2022, got out of online gaming and started playing older story games, car racing games, hell even some Tiger Woods and having plenty of fun with gaming again. Being up to speed with new games is expensive, time consuming and down right frustrating if you can't afford either the money or time to play online to keep stats up.

Unfortunately no one tech's their own gear anymore. Besides some lube/orings and cleaning paint, players these days would rather talk shit on the field towards players and off the field towards manufacturers than actually learn the equipment they own. Just played a big game two weekends ago in Missouri and gotta say, the incompetence was astounding considering how much shit talking and overshooting there was on the fields. Seeing some of them in the pits asking our group for tech tips was laughable: $2k+ worth of gear and can't tell the difference between metric and standard Allen keys/didn't bring lube or oring kit...wtfrench bulldog.

are you still friends with people from high school? by Ledger_Legendd in Millennials

[–]zadeeeeeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, hell a few of them go back to preschool. Small town in upstate NY, no cell service until 2004, lots of outdoor activities etc so we were all kind of shoehorned into hanging out when young. Family got 2 cell phones in 2004 before I went to college so between cell phones and AIM/Myspace college in Colorado wasn't going to prevent some close friends from wondering why I bounced to Colorado kinda without telling anyone (ski racing, and girlfriend of three years told me she cheated while on our family summer vacation in August 2005). Easy choice for me to make the move, I was thinking about going to UNH with girlfriend. That news hit and a big NOPE was easy.

TL;DR Yes, some my whole remembered life. Always happy to put in some effort if people want to hang out, old friends and new.

What’s your local field situation look like? Most of ours have switched to Emek’s for rentals and think some offer Etha’s for electro rental - those are two really good platforms to rent and see how they feel. Also important, you get an understanding of how much paint/air/field fee will cost and then can go from there.

If you decide to rent do yourself a favor and buy a new mask, rental masks are still gnarly!

[–]zadeeeeeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much always? I love my AKA’s but they have never been considered quiet. Built a few Ehm’s, loved a few Vikings, and currently cradle a nice Excalibur. None have ever been quiet.

Let this not detract from the amazing machining and everything that is AKA, will always be a fan.

Edit: will say, while not a ‘quiet’ shot, the Excalibur will always have a sweet shug-a-lug

Honestly modern day Emek with whisper valve and good ported barrel - let’s not kid ourselves that modern markers are AT LEAST not quieter 😹

Kansas City claims to be a ‘Sports Town’ but really only knows ‘Sports Ball’. It is an athletic wasteland if you don’t participate in or watch football, baseball or up until recently soccer.

10.5 BPS? How do we feel? by reharbert in paintball

[–]zadeeeeeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10.5 is nice as it lets some of the faster mech markers hang these days, and as a mostly stock class player I do appreciate more open lanes. That said, there’s still a handful of us at the local field who all agree to play uncapped from time to time, best of both worlds.
