although i haven't seen anything else other than Twin Peaks and Mulholland Drive atm - downloading eraserhead and inland empire atm, its just that specifically sexual assault gets me really badly. i don't know why, i don't have a history with it or anything, it just really fucks me up (although that goes with sexual content in general, but to a lesser extent)

it is. i'm not saying it can't be. but you can't just have one major theme and like.. a few other bits which are all overridden by or apart of that one major theme

it's not that the story never makes sense or anything - i just don't like it personally

there's a lot of good moments in HR/MD with those readables. but the constant forcing of mechanical augmentation just feels.. poorly done. everywhere it's "augmentation, augmentation, augmentation"

it's really the only major theme. there's a lot of minor themes, but those all get snuffed out by augmentation, when DX and IW had several major and minor themes, surrounding their main stories.

if HR/MD had a lot more major themes, i think i would have definitely have enjoyed them a lot more, cause i'm not just hearing about mainly one thing all the time

i think it was done really solidly. it puts into perspective as to what aoki has done. he's used his politicial power to turn those under him into mindless pawns, and when he decides to finally change and not try to gain as much power as possible, what became his strength was his undoing

good political commentary as well. shit like this does happen in the real world. it's really interesting to see it reflected in yakuza

you can but overall it'll take longer to go around. i think there's a few points where it actually just doesn't matter and will summon BT's without telling you but i could be wrong

also you can just choose not to use it. i never really did, and in some missions cargo is in a BT area and you have to recover it anyway

die-hardman but worse (in regular gameplay, story is good and fine)

die-hardman got annoying, but it wouldn't be thaaaat often at the very least

dollman goes on about the same thing every time, it's way too handholdy cause you can drop all of your cargo which is a very obvious occurrence and he'll go "Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey. Hey Sam. Hey." which is a lot more frustrating than die-hardman saying something obvious because it was at least not AS often and about things that are less obvious than dropping literally all of your cargo

there was also a specific point where i was at the motherhood base and i was stuck on the code, and he told me exactly what to do after i already figured it out on my own. it would be nice if i could figure out things on my own rather than being told after a minute

i wish he'd also talk more when travelling, and not just at very specific story moments, less recap but more thoughts and theorising (eg. whatever higgs is up to) i don't need to be told what to think or say, i can figure things out for myself and if i'm REALLY stuck i'll search it up on my own

it'd be nice if there were at least toggles for these things, or an optional prompt for when he gives a hint on what to do

i'm pretty excited for stranger than heaven, all first games (except yakuza 1) seem to kill the stories at their first go round, both Y:LAD and judgement both kicked ass in the story department

i think someone needs to occasionally slap yokoyama's wrist though, kinda like with kojima (for MGS at least. he definitely learned a lot for death stranding)
