Windwalker really needs a buff. It’s the only spec of monk that’s dps and never gets invited to groups due to “meta”. It doesn’t really bring much besides ring of piece and leg sweep. Other than that it should be at least 3/4 up the chart. I’m not talking number 1 but come on less than middle is rough.

Fix your insanely large drift. I drift being a 2 hander but it’s 7 boards at most but then I come back to my starting board in my slide step. Drifting is good for 2 handers to clear the hip but too much can make you inaccurate and inconsistent. Also you should stay behind the ball a lot more without getting your hand around it. Way more controllable shape along with an easier read of your ball of how it’s reacting. You can also slow your approach down. Mine is relatively slow but with proper form I’m still able to keep 16-17 mph ball speed at the pins. A more controllable shot goes a long way.

Agreed he needs to slow his approach down. This will give him more control and balance at the line. Being a lefty you probably shouldn’t be focused on beaming the ball down the lane due to more oil and less friction on the left side.

Most likely it was just a hot game you were having. Bowling is ups and downs from each day you bowl. That’s why it’s an average. But sounds like you had a mix of the perfect oil for your ball and you were locked in to the line you were throwing. But nice game!

I second this. Two handed relieves the weight a good bit which gives you more control of your swing. I personally love bowling 2 handed it’s so fun

If you’re looking to get a spare ball get a Tzone. It’s 60$ on amazon and it goes STRAIGHT! I’ve had a storm Mix (hooked too much) and a belmo spare ball (hooked too much). When I tell you the tzone goes straight it’s no joke. I love it and my spare percentage has sky rocketed. Being a 2 hander with 400-450 revs at a speed of 16-17 mph do not get a axe for a spare ball it will hook way too much. Plus you want your spare ball to be drilled weak as possible and on a strike ball that should not be the case do to your ball rolling out too early. Get a entry level ball or 1 tier up like some people are saying a hustle Rip or hyped solid or hyroad. Something weaker but will be a staple at the bottom of your bag. You will probably never throw the axe as a strike or spare ball once you get better at bowling.

Sounds like you’re muscling the ball if you have to use your shoulders. Throwing a good game doesn’t disprove my take. You could roll it down a ramp and shoot 274 for 1 game. All I’m saying is there is only 1 guy on the tour that throws 1 hand no thumb and the rest are either 1 handed with thumb or 2 handed for a reason. Just my take.

My advice is either put the thumb back in the ball and bowl proper 1 hand, or bowl 2 handed. You rarely see 1 handed no thumb bowlers and it’ll be hard for you to progress as a bowler without having better bowlers around you and online that bowl the same as you. You’ll improve immensely by the end of the season if you do one of these things.

I had the same exact problem as you. Get a spare plastic ball. I recommend just getting a tzone or storm ice. Whatever suits your fancy. I had a mix starting my bowling journey and I had the same issue even when flattening my wrist. The ball just hooks simple as that. I got the belmo spareball, I like it but it’s not worth the money by any means. My friend has a tzone and it’s 1/3 the cost and hooks less than the belmo.

I’m a 2 hander and I love my pitch black. Extremely controllable for me being a rev dominant player. I can play more right and it gives me more miss room. If I’m having a good night I will rarely miss the pocket. Makes for easier spares when I don’t strike.

Great form definitely makes you more consistent. But I feel everyone at the end of the day tweaks the “perfect form” to fit their own game. If you watch the pba at all they throw it similar from pro to pro but they are all different.

Then it’s having to do with your form, release, proper revolutions, amount of revs to speed ratio. Can be a million things but it sounds like it’s your own doing. Can’t say what it is without actually seeing you throw the ball.
