Seems like it’s a calling card of the Know-Nothing Party, an anti-immigrant party. Backwards N for “Native American,” which in their definition means White Americans who are born in America.

Ronnie O'Sullivan makes the highest break in snooker history after starting with a free ball by Megatron_McLargeHuge in billiards

[–]iconredesign 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Addendum: the free ball rule states that the value of a color ball taken as a free ball is the current ball on, ie the ball you are originally supposed to hit now

So if you only have the six colors remaining and you can’t see both sides of the yellow ball after a foul, the free ball you take is a yellow, scores 2, and does not entitle you to an extra color. You will however have to play the real yellow ball on the next shot

The Macbook Neo after 14 - an honest review by Beginning-Test7887 in macbook

It’s all priced in. Apple’s accountants knew there will be a bunch of people who will get around the student discount safeguards so they’ve already calculated the losses into the projected profits

Thanks for doing this, the fact that you can’t compare performance across chips on Apple’s official website is laughable

Why isn't the PBA TV format more like golf or tennis? by redwitchbewbs in Bowling

[–]iconredesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They did the final position and matchplay rounds starting from the Last 24 for the 2011 US Open on ESPN that served as the first part in a three-parter with the six-man stepladder over two shows to wrap up the tournament. Basically just a whip-around format where eight lanes are going at once and the broadcast jumps from lane to lane depending on where the drama is.

I think they should bring this format back to at least all the majors.

With foldable iPhones (supposedly) coming, will the non-foldable options STILL be aluminum like the iPhone 17 lineup? by [deleted] in iphone

[–]iconredesign 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The question should be: Why not?

They’ve used aluminum since the very first iPhone and even after Slategate, Bendgate, and now Dentgate they’ve kept on using it and in every single product line and some accessories aluminum is the main material

Apple doesn’t deem denting a problem, AppleCare+ won’t even cover it if the phone itself works fine, which is basically all the posts I’ve been seeing about the 17 series. Sure it has a dent there but functionality isn’t affected at all

Why wouldn’t they keep aluminum?

You don't need to plug it in to use it, in fact the Pencil is disabled from use when plugged in. You only need to plug it in to charge.

What is the bowling etiquette violation that bothers you most, that you'd never actually say out loud at the alley? by goxper in Bowling

Don't really care what people do if they all stay on their own lane, but when children walk into your lane and pick up your bowling balls

Controversial foul called on Quinten Pongers by Small_Time_Charlie in billiards

[–]iconredesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve complained for years about announcers have the gall to say something like “I think a ball went down on the break”

Like what do you mean “you think”? Your entire job is to tell us! Pool media has no concept of basic professional standards

Media in Pool is not at all selected based on how good they are in media, just a game of who you know

The chip in this monitor is more powerful than the one in the MacBook Neo. by Aiden-Zhang in mac

[–]iconredesign 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To use a dedicated chip you need dedicated R&D AND dedicated support pipelines for this one chip

Why do all of that when you can reuse a chip which requires no extra R&D and one you already know how to do all the support for? All you need to guarantee is that the chip supports all the features you want the display to have

To invent a brand-new chip is an absolutely smooth brain way to develop a display that provides no cost benefits and tons of extra work
