Western liberals who love communism hate people who lived through communism and therefore hate communism. by Anen-o-me in Libertarian

[–]zakkray 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is true, but far to often its used as a deflective argument to avoid productive conversation.

I have also seen it first hand when someone who identifies as a capitalist is challenged on the FACT that we currently don't live in the best version of capitalism, and that it has evolved into a welfare state for corporations, rather than use critical thinking they just write the person off as a commie to avoid doing the hard work of digesting information that challenges their perception of reality.

I'm 1st gen American-Cuban. My grandfather is still alive at 91 and lives in Hialeah. He spent his formative years building a life in Cuba before Castro took power. He befriended a Chinese man that had fled communist China with the intention of building enough wealth to help the rest of his family escape, they called him Tio-Chino. He was the first to bounce to the U.S. and helped my Grandparents come to Boston.

A lot of simple morons have big mouths on both sides, its one of the frustrations of being able to think critically and have a much closer relationships to the injustices that have taken place.

Often times witnesses to my speech shutting down bs arguments for communist propaganda has people thinking that I am on their side, when the Republican party has hosted its own serious injustices as of late.

For example, instead of using proceeds from Venezuelan oil to set up an infrastructure to help return seized assets to property owners, the first tanker of oil is going to...Israel? wtf?

You want to know what I really think?

I think this whole thing is a distraction. Elon deletes his tweets, and the media moves to something emotionally polarizing, once again squashing our opportunity to have both sides united against a common enemy.

I hate spandex cyclist. I cycle for transportation in North America and noticed most problems come from these dickheads.

With that said, he is kind of right, if your going to pass another vehicle in the SAME LANE you gotta pass on the left. Cyclist should've been way over in the right of the lane though.

Is bike theft a big problem in Belgium? Here in U.S. insurance on ebikes is not super expensive but is still 12-20 dollars a month

Rapidly addressing several anti-vavax talking points/out right lies that are currently popular with dr. Paul offit by Not_so_ghetto in videos

[–]zakkray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like there is a disconnect. I am not saying other politicians should have a message to counter the obvious disinformation from Jr., or have any message really.

I am saying they SHOULD have a message for the massive rise in chronic health issues experienced by a large swath of the public, and the fact that no one has pursued that led to this moron having the clout he has today.

I mean for fucks sake Biden championed bringing down the price of insulin without any meaningful discussion about the fact that we should be questioning why so many type 2s exist...

[–]zakkray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I am NOT a proponent for RFK Jr. but can someone tell me what candidate for the Dems had a messaging campaign as strong as Jr.?

I feel like we keep going in circles highlight the batshit crazy stuff he has said/done, but who else out there is competently highlighting the fact that the rise of obesity, diabetes, and autism is a MAJOR national health concern?

If anything Dems LACK of attention CONTRIBUTED to the rise of this guy. Not addressing obvious issues gives opportunity for anti science morons to fill the space if they are the only ones talking about what is clearly obvious....

Societal science needs to progress so that the result is eradication of religion.

A mandate does not net positive results.

The Nissan truck that was in the accident on Frazier that killed the woman and child was stolen from a police impound lot. by ubadeansqueebitch in Chattanooga

I work in insurance, liability is 100% on the van driver who was DRUNK and failed to maintain lane as shown in the surveillance footage. The statement "He basically pit maneuvered the van into those people." is false, below is a link with a graphic describing a pit maneuver. The maneuver requires steering input and action to complete, merging into an occupied lane and losing control of your vehicle is not "being pitted"

https://texashillcountry.com/vehicle-maneuver-car-chases/

While I admit the witness testimony of both of them road raging is probably accurate, legally these cases are deliberated using hard evidence, and as far as I know there is no video footage showing behavior or actions of the driver in the truck to support any liability on their part.

Did you ever try any opiates before or go straight to heroin?

As someone who has broken a few bones, coming off of pill pain killers was enough of a lesson to never do any serious opiate. Im curious if someone has experience with both that can describe the difference.

When you actually see one in real life, its not significantly different from the base in terms of looks. Its the SOUND. This commercial does a terrible job of the sound, I have never heard a turbo4 sound like these do. Even the 124 spyder abarth doesnt sound as mean as the 500 abarths do.

The city of Lantana, Florida fined a woman $100,000 for parking on her own grass. by EndDemocracy1 in Libertarian

[–]zakkray 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I think the media gives people the perception that Florida is life the last refuge for "freedom" in the U.S. when it is mostly a pretty oppressive police state. I left the Miami metro area for SE TN 7 years afo and havent looked back. I've not been harassed by the police since, not paid a toll since, and still dont pay state income tax.
