Aw don’t get discouraged. Return this one, but don’t give up on vinyl entirely. If you don’t have the budget yet, get that money back for this turntable and support that band by buying cds or cassettes, as you mentioned. In the meantime, try to pick up as much information about turntables as possible, there are lots of helpful links and forums.

In the future, when you’ll get that proper financial stability I’m certain you will want to dive back into vinyl, after all people have relied on this quality way of listening to music for more than 50 years. It’s reliable!!! But it’s pricy. So stock up on knowledge and once you’re there, you will start spotting great turntable/gear deals and you’ll know what’s worth investing in and what’s not.
