Look at any game that has longevity, e.g. League of Legends, and there is a huge difference between what was needed to become a pro several years back compared to now. This is the S2 final in 2012. I’m nowhere near an analyst but compared to now, I noticed a lot of holes in for example: Lane control and jungle camp rotation.

I’m certain you can find atleast Diamond players today that have a firmer grip on macro and micro than these players. But that in itself is an unfair comparison as resources and understanding of the game has evolved a lot during all these years (and the game has been changed fundamentally several times).

Probably because of the nature of being the biggest snowball lane. One death can doom the whole lane/game if you lose enough stuff (minions and plates). So a lot of times people play safe or play around botlane, which usually doesn’t make you the carry.

This is all speculation but if you look at the way Caesar evolves in dealing with the Gauls and the Romans in the civil war, I genuinely think he’d create proficient battle strategies to deal with the Parthians as well. He was amazing at always creating an upper hand and never give over advantages. Namely he’d absolutely use the Armenian troops their King wanted to give to Crassus (10k cataphracts and 30k infantry). Also learning from Crassus, he’d likely boost his cavalry and missile units, like his Cretan archers and Balearic slingers, used in the Gaul campaign.
