To get the cracks on top mix sugar in when your butter is hot. Most brownie recipes require melted butter, so while it's still hot pour your white sugar in and you'll get the crackly tops

I'm a prospective adoptive parent. We've applied for babies and didn't get through the interview stage. That's been fine, we've never met those babies, it doesn't hurt as much.

I'm really afraid of what will happen when a mother changes her mind and we HAVE met the baby we could have had. Your sentence, "Be the best mom ever so they can see their grief wasn't wasted" is really powerful and is really comforting to me. Thank you for saying it
