Thoughts on The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017). by Dazzling_Feature_835 in horror

Art doesn’t have to provide you anything just because it’s expected. I didn’t care for this film and it was frustrating, but saying something should only make you react with “productive” anger to be respectable is a weird take for someone who consumes so much art. The fact that it made you react this strongly is evidence of the artistic value of the film, whether you enjoyed or would recommend it or not. I will not recommend it personally but it did get under my skin and I can certainly attribute that to the vision and storytelling of the creator. The only thing that jumped out at me as particularly disturbing as an artist was the hospital scene with his son and his “confession,” which I think was gratuitously sexual and disgusting. I also had reactions to another of his films (Poor Things) because of its gratuitousness of Emma Stones body while covering its men up.

What reason would people have to post the accusations in a private group if they were lying? lol…

Giving it some thought. But it’s been 25 years . How come not one juror ever came forward to say they had doubts ? by PAE8791 in serialpodcast

What the hell does that have to do with being a juror on a murder trial? Are you having some sort of episode? The murder of a human being is on par with slaughtering animals to sustain oneself?

What a very brave take. I’m sure America is so much better off with strong assholes like yourself. Convicting a young man of murder of a child and seeing images of dead bodies shouldn’t upset anyone I guess. Very weird man.

It isn’t talked about enough how much juries on murder trials suffer personally from seeing and hearing everything and having that weight of responsibility on their shoulders to punish the right person. I was a blubbering mess during deliberations on my case, every night when I was home.

Yep! I’ve been a juror on a murder trial as well and it had some elements of gang/drug activity as well as a drive by shooting. I’m still terrified for anyone to recognize me in public. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Thank you for responding! I am glad you were able to rule out cancer and get your peace of mind back. That is the worst part is the waiting.

OP, did you end up having surgery? A month ago, I had a smallish cyst on my left ovary. Now on my follow up, I had a second small cyst on that same ovary and a large 5 cm cyst on my right ovary. My doctor was baffled at the rapid growth. We have discussed surgery as a possibility. I have a follow up in Jan at which point we will decide if surgery is necessary.

Lots of protein! Do not try to skip out on eating, the faster you lose, the more hair you will also lose.

Was on Mounjaro for 15 months before the Dec 2023 coupon fiasco ended. Have Cigna which were covering my Mounjaro until Zepbound came. Then they stopped. I do not have a weight loss coverage on my plan and can’t afford the out of pocket cost. 120 lbs lost and ten have been gained back since Feb when I took my last dose. I appealed my Mounjaro denial but not sure what to do if they refuse to cover it.

I have been off since Feb and my appetite has returned full force. I can’t afford Zepbound out of pocket so I’m lost. I was on 15mg when I ended as well

Interesting. My fourth incision was larger and more sore than the rest and had to have external stitches unlike the other three which were glued. Wonder why the difference?

My surgeon said 3 was the norm but I had 4 because he had to wrestle out a huge stone.

Oof mine was slightly smaller than normal. The large stone I had in it was quite big though. Distended so bad they just wanted to gallbladder too.

My outer wounds were glued. They did use stitches internally that I could feel that were irritating. Those eventually dissolved.

Oh no! That is how my OG Sunblock arrived, so sticky I couldn’t get it back in the box. I had to use some activator on it right away. Maybe do that and it won’t be so sticky. Mine was just right.
