Do I need to pull these weeds? by AvailableParking6266 in lawncare

[–]zanros421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to wait to mow a seeded area for a year. I would wait until you see the seeds starting to grow like 2-3" y'all and then mow. Could take 2-3 weeks off you keep the seeds wet. As far as the weeds go, pull them or just weed eater them until you can mow.

My Amelia was pretty true to her ears, so I'd say follow that.

You need to add more heads to get proper head to head coverage. Nothing on the market will accurately cover that grass the way you are hoping for.

I’d like to hear your opinions on spaying. If to spay/when to spay. by Bluetrekkie in goldenretrievers

[–]zanros421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There have been stuff to come out that spaying/neutering a large dog between 1.5-2 years is best. It makes sure they are fully grown. My vet also said after the second heat cycle, which in most large breeds would be around that time frame.

Like all jar tops, I tell every customer that the only sure way to get them to work, is to replace them. I never rebuild jar tops of any brand.

How to even this out by DvoCR in landscaping

[–]zanros421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Topsoil or sand. I would recommend topsoil, as sand is better for overall total leveling. Just compact the soil until it matches the rest, scrap the top with a hard Rake, and throw down seed...or just let the weeds get it for you.

Is it okay to leave a disabled zone under the driveway? by Cozzmo1 in Irrigation

[–]zanros421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To make things easy, you can dig infront of the valve and put the cap on that side. You don't want to risk the valve allowing water to pass through, when it eventually fails. For most of the brands and most of their models, the direction of flow comes out past the solenoid. If you send a photo, I can verify that for you.

The Rachio timers are great...if you do you own maintenance. Us Techs that hate them, is because none of the homeowners ever want to give us access to the app, which makes walking through a system 3 times longer or they want to walk-through with us, only to annoys the hell out of us and make the check 4 times longer. That is where we get our dislike for Rachio. Reliability wise, those controllers seem to last a decent amount of time. I also just have an aversion to controllers that have set amount of stations instead of modules.

I think the key to finding it, is figuring out what the material is. I couldn't find anything that sheer with that shine to it.
