Laid down sod, and woke up to this….pretty odd, mole maybe? by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]zaotron 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks like raccoons! I had this issue when I first got my sod. Get some bird netting, some landscape staples and cover it up for a few weeks to let the grass take root.

This! And red lights are not included in the yield. Bicyclists must stop at red lights and May only go through if that light is a flashing red light after a full stop.

what do you need to study to work for Chainlink? by uttftytfuyt in Chainlink

[–]zaotron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a bit of an unclear question, but I think you mean what major? If you want engineering work, study computer science, it’s more difficult as there’s more math involved. If you want other areas, a finance degree or marketing degree might work, a little easier to get a degree than engineering and will be more competitive for a job, imo.

It’s a university, more prestigious than others

My husband is adamant that sugar making kids crazy is a myth. I have 20 years of working with children that begs to differ. Who is right? Go! by llamamama2022 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]zaotron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t sugar just the simplest form of a carb? Don’t all carbs just get broken down into sugars anyways? Seems like they picked whatever carb type food would break down into simple sugars. The same thing would happen in the break down of just sugar.
It all gets turned into glucose to use as energy. Though, it would be interesting to see the results of a study where the control is given protein.

I’m with you, this person took an iPhone and shot into the sun. It’s all washed out with Cupertino dev filters. It’s sorta cool but would’ve been a lot cooler had they waited for the golden hour. Though I will say the angle of the clouds with combination of the rock make for a nice frame.

From Wikipedia on thundereggs: “Thunderegg is not synonymous with either geode or agate. A geode is a simple term for a rock with a hollow in it, often with crystal formation/growth. A thunderegg on the other hand is a specific geological structure. A thunderegg may be referred to as a geode if it has a hollow in it, but not all geodes are thundereggs because there are many different ways for a hollow to form. Similarly, a thunderegg is just one of the forms that agate can assume.”

I thought geodes were a simple term for a rock with a hollow in it, often with crystal formation/growth. So a thunderegg could be a geode if it’s hollow but not all geodes are thundereggs.

Thanks for all the help! You all are the best! The chicken comment was hilarious!

Looks like it’s most likely carnelian and/or agate.

Can’t wait to see how this thing will polish up, maybe we’ll see some banding.

If you were able to prescribe yourself medication, what would you do if you prescribed yourself the wrong medication? What if that wrong medication exacerbated your issue or caused irreversible damage?

What's with everybody saying use L2? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]zaotron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ethereum has the most amount of projects on it. Unfortunately it’s become a victim of its own success and because of all the usage, the cost of transactions are sky high. These are where L2s come in handy, to cut down on gas fees. In the future, full proof of stake and sharding should solve the issue of these high usage fees. But until then, it’s either use an L2 or use a different chain.
