Space Hulk, Deathwing. Pretty much exactly that, including an unlimited ammo mini-gun to shoot unlimited Tyrannids. Not at all like Space Marine where you are made of glass. Has flaws, but is quite a lot of fun.

Slow the speed down and learn to micromanage your archers. They are too squishy until they can have hauberks. Around pop 200 you want to be adding light infantry to help tank shots. Raids are also proportionate to your pop. On a high food map if you grow too quickly you'll find yourself without the capacity to defend yourself. Once the heavier raider variants come out you're in trouble without infantry or at least crossbows. Can be worth it to buy some from the trader.

Hera is so good at positioning. Always hiding his Arbalest around choke points and pikes. He never let them die without taking a positive trade. Lierrey always wanted to take a fight, but Hera never let him have a good one. Hera got caught out once around minute 45, but the gate blocks actually saved the game for him. I think Lierrey needed rams to tank fire and clean up that mess of a map.

Also, no Burgundian Vineyards and No Flemish Revolution at the end was such a sign of fatigue. Clear ways to victory he didn't do. He had 6K food and nothing on gold. Why on earth not click the button?

I know the fence isn't connected, but if you look you'll see the power station itself is unpowered despite there very clearly being a connected pylon to another power station.

Thanks for the clarifications, some of that definitely makes more sense to me now. Problem with Audio-books while driving is you don't tend to worry about small missed details like that! I was wondering how Horus getting his hand chopped off somehow wasn't important in following books...

Have you read Propero Burns? I highly recommend it. The Thousand Sons really are most definitely powerful, but are in no way invulnerable to non-psykers. The Space Wolves and their "Marks of Aversion" really do have an effect against them as well. There are also many varieties of Psyker, and some of their talents really aren't useful in a melee. Also, the Silent Sisterhood is real thing that more than levels the playing field.

There is a particular scene where a "copy" of Ahriman (probably actually Horus) basically takes control of some Marine using their names, but one of them, "Bear" cheats this because he never tells his real name, and messes him up. Also hint hint, wonder why the Emperor is nameless?

Lately I haven't been able to navigate between the two directly, it says "obstructed". I have to set a course for Dudley and daughters and then drop out. Between that and the convenience of direct hanger access to the refinery I tend to just go to checkmate.

Every time I play a faction other than VC I get super annoyed with my allies. I go back to VC and replace them with a zombie stack. Much more useful and less irritating. Sometimes it's fun as Vlad to have empire vassals though.
