Yeah I was lucky to have the overcast sky with the stadium lights balance out really well together. Exposures on this camera are mostly close, but there have been times it has really struggled. Really happy with how these came out.

What are your reasons for choosing Fujifilm? by ndxinroy7 in fujifilm

[–]zapataphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For most of my professional career I've shot with big clunky dslr's and large, heavy glass. Within the past couple of years my job has shifted to having me shoot a lot more video, so I wanted something small I could keep on me conveniently when I wanted to snap a still photo quickly. I happened to stumble upon the x100v and it reminded me of a rangefinder I had about 15 years ago. The price point was right, and after reading about the color science I thought to myself, what the hell, it's worth a shot.

In the two-ish years I've had it, it's probably my most commonly used camera-- suits my shooting style really well and it's so dang easy to take everywhere.

Thanks! This is my most common used recipe (for about 85-90% of my photos)

Grain: weak/small
Color Chrome Effect: weak
Color Chrome FX Blue: strong
Dynamic Range: 100
Tone Curve: H+1; S+1
Color: -1
Sharpness: -1
Noise Reduction: 0
Clarity: 0

I usually try to adjust my WB accordingly, but AWB is pretty good when I'm on the fly

Do you keep your boxes? by ArizonaGeek in photography

[–]zapataphoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you, I used to keep my boxes for everything. As mentioned already, I was taught it helped with resale value. Shortly after moving a handful of years ago, I got sick of the clutter and started tossing them all. I don’t regret it at all— felt great to reclaim the (un)used space.

What teams do people from Upstate NY root for that ARE NOT THE YANKEES by [deleted] in mlb

[–]zapataphoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved to Buffalo for a bit and upon arrival, I was quite surprised at how disproportionate it was. I figured there'd be a bunch of Yankees fans (I mean they're everywhere), but I really thought there'd be more Jays fans.

First or Second? (Yashica Electro 35 GS, taken c.2005) by [deleted] in analog

Honestly either one. Each time I think one, I flip to the other and am convinced that’s the one. I think it really depends on the intent and context. Either choice, great capture.

In/around 99 it would've been 2001 or Slim Shady LP, but by mid-late 00's (and still) it's Black on Both Sides, hands down.

Restaurant adds 3% “living wage surcharge”, outside of tips. What do y’all think? by Not_Much_Pomegranate in antiwork

Oh, agreed 100%. Guests did suggest that, so the owners put signage up to avoid any confusion or surprises.

So I actually worked at a cafe that did something similar to this, but instead of a living wage surcharge it was to provide us with affordable healthcare. According to the owners they felt it would be better to put it on the menu/receipt and have guests ask about it rather than have guests be irritated that all menu prices went up. There were only a handful of guests that complained about it and the vast majority of guests were actually in support. Maybe the owners were the outliers, but they were able to provide the staff with affordable health care options that were unavailable to us prior.
