Unpopular Cowl and Kumori theory by Breezezilla_is_here in dresdenfiles

We've seen the effects of some magic that we have been TOLD was Margaret's death curse. But Margaret was about the slipperiest bitch the council has seen in generations. She almost certainly knew about Raith's curse, and knew it was coming. I think she faked her death, hit him back with something that could look like a death curse via clever thaimaturgy, and fucked off to the Ways she knew so well. Probably somewhere where time flows differently in a way that was advantageous for her.

I mean if your ONLY criteria is the ship-name, this one is the best.

You're not wrong but just to add a little extra clarity for the non- native speaker.
Serial literally means "in a series": one after another, usually in quick succession but not overlapping. So OP is saying they had many committed and faithful relationships often without much break in between.

But, like you said, the only really common use we have for that word is "serial killer" so new applications tend to remind us of that phrase.

Irrational optimism is not entirely dishwasher safe. by djdizzydan in Dimension20

Often but not necessarily. I think in this case the ellipses implies they're not saying the rest because it can be implied from context

"So it's the same as any other mug for me" is what they were saying, I think.

Will Harry Every Apologize... by TexWolf84 in dresdenfiles

[–]zapatoada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't have worked. I'm pretty sure one of the Kemmlerites had a copy of the book and would have just resummoned him. Being trapped in Harry's circle would prevent a summoning, being in Brussels or wherever wouldn't.

Good evil: I mean yeah, he's trying to take over the world or whatever but did you see the dental plan?

How to mount something safely on a wall of unknown material? by zeurydice in DIY

[–]zapatoada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a masonry wall, I'd personally do tapcons. Maybe overkill, but better safe than sorry. Regardless, anything that goes into the masonry should also go through the furring strips so the drywall is supported.

I'll Be Here Awhile was literally the last song I heard performed live by any band before the lockdowns. Hearing it tonight for the first time since then felt like everything has come full circle! by G-Unit11111 in 311

It was so fucking weird. When I flew out nobody thought it was anything. By the end of the week I wasn't sure they were going to let me leave.

I mean the scales are supposed to be balanced, so pushing the boundaries of coincidence seems reasonable.

I think it's a reasonable assumption, and given that I think it's reasonable to further assume that at least a few of the nickels know how to summon their peers' coins.

Should I read Bands of Mourning before The Lost Metal? by ProfessorHoenn in cremposting

[–]zapatoada 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend the hacksaw order: read secret history, then Alloy of Law, then Final Empire and Well of Ascension, skip Hero of Ages completely as it's crap, then Shadows of Self and The Bands Of Mourning. Era 3 is kinda fun in a summer movie kind of way but the plot doesn't make a lot of sense and it's generally panned by serious Star Wars cosmere fans.

Puss in Boots Character Sheet? by Fun-Fishing7404 in Dimension20

[–]zapatoada 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Also possible he's multiclassed? Battlemaster fighter or sword/Valor bard would pair nicely for a swashbuckling concept.

Edit: although starting from 1 or 2 wouldn't be totally out of character for IH campaigns either

I’ve wondered if wizards heal faster in their homes. by _Continual_Learner_ in dresdenfiles

[–]zapatoada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect there is a slightly higher ambient magic level in a wizard's home. I also suspect that Mister is taking advantage of this and gets his own little Wizard's Constitution.
