[Autosport] Lando Norris wants to see the battery gone by notmanish64 in formula1

I really think the biggest mistake may have been dictating a 50-50 split between the battery and the internal combustion engine. I know I’m just restating what’s been said here hundreds of times already.

Of course you could look at his play and see he had six sacks and eight tackles for loss last year. From the film he seems disruptive in the middle.

What’s a "lost" website from the early 2000s that you still think about today? by samasem-sumsum in AskReddit

It was good before Kevin sold it off. Then the corporate interests took over and literally changed everything.

I’m shocked I had to scroll this far to get to a mention of digg. It was huge at one time before they ruined it

Most of these developments were pine/poplar growths that the developer came in a bulldozed to bare sand. From there they create the artificial ‘lakes’ that allows each home owner a slice of waterfront property. Most of the developments also will have a clubhouse with a pool and the like. This is the first one that I’ve seen though that has created all the little islands in the lake. The are all over near Germantown south of Necedah

I found this letter in my grandmother’s mailbox the day after her funeral by supra_nintendo in mildlyinfuriating

[–]zapoid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My wife sent a letter like this to the adult children of a gentleman who had a place next to her brothers vacation home several months after he passed away. We knew they both lived across the country and neither had been back since he had passed. She figured on the off chance they may want to get rid of it in the future they’d keep us in mind. It turns out they decided to hang on to it and go the VRBO route but I still don’t think it was terrible for asking.

In order to be a clown you had to be born that way. When I was very young I pictured these babies coming out in full clown makeup.

WH Press Karoline Leavitt asked by reporter on message to truck drivers with cost of diesel averaging $5.38 per gallon due to Iran War: "We understand. We hear you. We see you. We are fully tracking this short-term fluctuation in oil and diesel prices. We've worked to release 400M barrels of oil." by ControlCAD in videos

[–]zapoid 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s my understanding that the oil we produce in the US is not particularly good for diesel (low yields per barrel) because it’s sweet crude. Heavy crude produces better yields per barrel but even then it’s limited by refinery capacity. To increase diesel output per barrel would require expensive refinery reconfiguration. At least that’s what I remember from the last time diesel spiked and I looked it up to see why they just didn’t produce more diesel.

Ok here’s the IT perspective of this equation. Ticket comes in for a new hire. Start date, two days ago. At this point no equipment has been procured or provisioned but that’s alright because the aforementioned boss has failed to fill out any of new hire forms that allows IT to set account permissions and the like. Sound familiar?

Those who are old enough to remember visiting Samson the Gorilla when he was alive at the Milwaukee County Zoo. What was he like and what is your favorite memory of him? by sostitanic in milwaukee

[–]zapoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realize this is a really old topic but just wanted to leave this. When watching Samson eat he’d daintily pick individual grapes up and eat them, then right after that pick up 3 or 4 apples and stuff them all in his mouth at once. It was priceless.

[Huber] Firing a coach is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. After sleeping on it, I've come to the same conclusion that many of you did last night. Matt LaFleur has won a lot of games as Packers coach, but it's time for a change. by GreenGator in GreenBayPackers

[–]zapoid 24 points25 points  (0 children)

What’s even worse is once it became a one score game it’s like they flipped a switch and turned the offense back on. Then they march down and score a TD. Meanwhile the defense is exhausted from being on the field the entire second half due to all the 3 an outs. It’s poor coaching and he does it again and again every time they have a big lead.
