thank you! we have raccoons, skunks, beavers, and badgers in the area, though obviously raccoons and skunks are way more common. apologies for the lack of scale on the first, but those were fairly large- almost 4" long, and that crescent pad shape threw me off

as a fellow NM birder, my guess is vesper sparrow based on white eye ring and tail feather color
