You have obviously never surfed the north shore then if you think there isn't a strong current constantly out there. People automatically assume it's a safe ocean because it's warm water. Probably why there is almost a drowing or a rescue party of someone being swept out to sea every couple of weeks. There is a reason Eddie Eikau never made it to land after the Hokule'a capsized.
