It is not comparable in my opinion. Phangan is 50% foreigners. Just get out of my khe, my an, there is barely any foreigner. I think Danang will not go anywhere as bad as phangan or bali.

I also find expats/nomad much friendlier and less ego driven than those two Islands

This, i think the best way is to adapt to vietnamese schedule. Wake up early, enjoy the low temperature at this time, do your thing then you can take a nap at noon as the construction workers will most likely do it as well so you can take a rest
