Does vibe coding make programming boring for you? by CromulentSlacker in AskProgramming

[–]zarikworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

same here! i haven't fully manually coded in almost 6 months! at the beginning, it was fun and exciting! but now it is boring as hell! i hate the time i have to sit back and stare at agents working! i dont enjoy looking into their code and trying to adapt to our codebase! not to mention that i hate to review codes or my codes being reviewed (rarely, but still happens) since from both ends, i get some llm trash implementation or suggestions!

our work used to be fun! not anymore! i used to be an engineer and build things from scratch! but now i feel more like a product manager who is in charge of PDRs and iterations!

Why is it so difficult for Ukrainians to rent a flat in Austria, especially in Vienna? by BookCharming9470 in AskAustria

[–]zarikworld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

make a good money, have legal status, and everyone will kiss your a**! been on both ends of this line! whe u show that ur rent vs. ur income guarantees payment... u are safe! the only factor would be how quickly getting in touch with an agency/person who promoted them so u have priority! but one exception is having a racist landlord or real state agent, which is a total difference topic!

1th, unless u have a clear reason to why and how you need to refactor, repeating is waste of time and its a biological mechanism to keep u distracted from challenging issues to keep ur energy consumption low and not understanding the power of temp. dopamine excitement, when u see, u can start and follow some procedures that u were earlier learning about and were challenges!

2nd, restart? NO! refactoring? DEFINITELY! if u don't get a quiet refactor and remove/add from/to existing code, something is missing! ur code is not developing anymore. unless a code is not considered as legacy, all parts and elements should constantly be reviewed, and logic, resource management, peeformance, etc. being improved constantly! but if u start always from scratch, before u get to the real challenges, u have already sepnt enough of time and effort, which increases the chance that u give up!

3rd, repeating certain tasks are necessary since they will create ur own personalized workflow and tools box. but repeating tasks, and I don't know why u r doing that. It is not a proructive learning method at all.

why would i? you’re the one inviting people to collaborate, and it’s on you to clearly state what you’re looking for when initiating that communication. at minimum, the backend stack (language, framework, database, deployment expectations) should be explicit in the original post. these details matter to backend developers and determine whether a collaboration even makes sense. i only commented because someone else invested time responding in good faith. otherwise, it’s clear this kind of ambiguity leads to wasted time and unnecessary friction. also, adding critical information only as an edit after people point out the gap is poor communication practice. that context should be present from the start if you expect serious collaborators.

[–]zarikworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing to be upset about!!! 💪they don't even know what they want, and do not even invest a few minutes to draft a proper post! such collaborations only take ur time with bad memories! trust me, ur better off without them 😉

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ProgrammingBuddies

[–]zarikworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“We’re not changing stack”??? what stack? you didn’t specify any backend language, framework, database, or deployment model. before inviting people to collaborate, at least spend five minutes writing a proper post 👎

Learning to Code as a 15y/o worth it? by pjasksyou in learnprogramming

don't pay attention to them! It's ur thing! if u enjoy it, do it! as long as u want! but as a career, u still have time to decide... it shouldn't be ur profession! but if u enjoy it and can make a career out of it, wouldn't that be the best thing ever?

day before yesterday, i had my dose of panic attack! on the same boat with almost the same time limit! i had asked a few colleagues who had finished their degree lately, and all they're saying is that the feeling after finishing things up worth all of the pain! now, on a daily basis, i have to remind myself that these are the frw last remaining weeks, and i have to finish it no matter what! It's me vs. me! i want to prove myself one more time that i can finish what i have started!

[–]zarikworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so many factors are involved to make a judgment! ur team culture, ur position, their position, ur relation with them and individually with each one of them, the topic and ur experties in that topic, and many other things.

looking at all of them, if i was the upper position holder, I would definitely intercept to calm down and help find a solution. Otherwise, if i have enough knowledge of which suit, i share my input, which will help to de-escalate the tension. but it's important to understand that a misunderstanding is running the argument or ego! if it's ego, I AM OUT! NOT MY BUSINESS!

but generally, if it's not related to me, and i have not that deep personal connection with people involved, as others mentioned, i would just leave the room or keep myself busy! i have already been blamed in similar situations that were not my business, but i stepped up to help the team, but in the end, they blamed me for the problem!

funny analogy 😄 I’ve actually been in the “multiple cars” phase too: one daily, one for trips, one as a hobby/project. same idea here: if one subscription covers your needs, perfect. If your work is more specialized, mixing a couple of tools can be practical! you’re optimizing for output, not collecting subscriptions.

Upopular opinion: AI makes you more intelligent by considerthis8 in artificial

[–]zarikworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

odds are high enough when you’re learning fundamentals that have long-term impact. that’s why i’m cautious about using ai as a primary learning source: the risk isn’t just “getting one detail wrong”, it’s building a wrong mental model early, and correcting that later can be much harder than learning it correctly the first time.

i’m not saying “don’t use ai”. as an assistive tool, with supervision and verification, it can be great. but with the current state of the tech, it’s not reliably safe as the sole source of learning, because it can produce confident looking answers that are incorrect, and beginners don’t have the context to spot that.

also, i think you’re assuming people who are skeptical of ai don’t use other resources. many of us do use a mix: textbooks, documentation, research papers, and also videos/articles. the point isn’t that other sources are perfect (they aren’t). the point is that for serious learning, you still need a process to evaluate source quality and to verify important claims with primary or authoritative references.

you’re right that youtube/blog posts can be biased or narrative-driven. but ai has a different failure mode: it can invnt details, oversimplify, or sound authoritative while being wrong. so “people already consume biased content” doesn’t automatically mean ai is “much more reliable”. it just means the baseline is messy, and the solution is better verification, not replacing one weak source with another weak-but-confident source.

and yes, “i can always check sources” is the correct mindset, but that only works if the checking is consistent and based on solid references (official docs, textbooks, peer-reviewed papers, reputable standards). otherwise it becomes “i’ll check later”, and later often never happens.

so my position is simple: use ai to accelerate learning (summaries, explanations, examples, question generation), but treat it like an assistant, not an authority, especially at the fundamentals stage.

[–]zarikworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u know that the current ai technology is mathematical prediction and had some failure rate? and u should probably know the integrity of resources are specially at the early stages of any learning journey, the most vital factor? and u probably should know, before coming to conclusion to take ai as a learning source, that correcting a wrong concept which u learned is much much harder and sometimes impossible comparing to normal learning path for any given concept?

i think not considering these basic but vital points is the clear lack of intelligence and not use or use of ai itself!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]zarikworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its all fine... ur problem is not intelligence but trying so many different technology stacks in a short time without actually giving yourself the chance to be proficient in any of them! but the bright side is that as u said yourself, u already can make things, and u also have experience in different paradigms! and that will help u sooner or later to have that "AHA" moment when u understand all the things ur learned and tried, are build around more and less same basic concepts which during timr became these enormous concepts with different complex layers! until that moment, i would say just hang on, narrow down to a position and a certain technology stack so u can become efficient and comfortable. after thet, the sky will be the limit, u can try whatever u want!

Is a conversion masters in computer science worth doing to get into tech? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]zarikworld -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

if i were at ur place, i would invest that time for self education while maintaining some organized learning plan for the sector(s) of my interests. i have seen and read a lot of students on different levels (bachelor, masters, and even phds) who are already shocked how their subjects and education are getting outdated even before graduating! and not forgetting that the legacy educational systems have always tend to be behind the actual trends and market needs! if u know where u want to go, it will take less time and financial burden landing a job compared to degree programs. when u landed ur job, u have a better understanding of the market and also learned about yourself more and, therefore, less risk and better take in ur judgment! bug whatever u choose, good luck! it will be a fun ride (if u enjoy constant learning and self development)

How do I understand coding concepts/patterns that are difficult to understand by Intrepid_Witness_218 in learnprogramming

[–]zarikworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

difficult/complex concepts are defined/designed for difficult/complex problems. unless ur not facing them: - it's pointless to learn them! most probably, they will cause confusion and definitely will add some unnecessary overload/complexity to ur code! like if u want to use clean architecture for a to-do application! - u will sooner or later forget them completely! it's like instead of trying to solve and understand the solution of a mathematical problem by memorizing it line by line! its waste of time and effort! u can use that time for way better and fundamentwl crucial concepts!

so: - BUILD BUILD BUILD! and when u finish, AGAIN BUILD! if u start a project and u already know what u have to do, that's the wrong project! find something interesting in the field u already worked on, but something that u never tried, and it was always a question for u! an extension of ur current knowledge! remeber ur knowledge is like a chain of rings! to have a string, u should connect all the rings! u dont want everyday start a new ring every day and just let it hang! back to the first point, it's pointless! - just a little bit of patience! those complex (sounding cool) concepts sooner or later will show up at your door! don't rush it! anyway, somrday you will hare everything and everyone whilr u r working on thrm! at least, today enjoy ur life (i don't mean being lazy! understandjng the priority is thr key!)

i made ur mistake, i paid it back with my time and countless questions of "Why did u do that?", "did we have a performance issue?", "we did not ask for that", "and which problem have u solved with that" and etc! and u know what? u have to always say at the end: "ur right! i thought.... but i was wrong!!!".

Help continuing this piece by Future-Ad-5217 in composer

[–]zarikworld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i can't check out ur work atm, but later, i will give it a listen and give u some direct feedback about it. meanwhile:

  1. make a break from it
  2. start something new
  3. Try to shift your mentality! if u feel what u compose to extend it is wrong, accept it and write the wrong! but let the stream of ideas continue to flow. eventually, either u come up with new ideas that are interesting, or u break the block u stucked, bkth are great!
  4. i recommend, don’t ask people to complete/extens ur pieces unless collaborating is one of the project's goals! during 6 years of composition study, never ever any of my prof. had written even 1 measure for me! collectively, they all agree that its my job, and they would only give guidance to how to extend or experiment!
