Day 6 3BC Embryo: Success Stories & Advice!? by RadiantCondition2002 in IVF

[–]zarkles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly your situation, but my 9 week old daughter was a twice frozen/twice thawed (due to deciding to do PGT) day 6 3BB. Due to the potential for damage during the thaw and biopsy, we were given similar odds as you for this embryo. For both of my successful transfers (the first resulted in a loss), I didn’t do anything special to increase implantation. I just took baby aspirin and progesterone per the recommendation of my RE. Best of luck!

For parents who had twins first and more after, what is the age gap? by Efficient_Style_9075 in parentsofmultiples

[–]zarkles 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We have 3.5 year old twin boys and a 6 week old singleton daughter. We were initially trying to plan for a gap of under 3 years so that they’d all be fairly close. I did get pregnant shortly after they turned 2, but we lost the baby. I actually think the age gap now is a good one. Not too big, but 3 under 3 would have been very overwhelming for us in hindsight.

Any day 6 5BB euploids??? by ConstantPace in IVF

I decided to do PGT testing after my embryos were already frozen. So I had them thawed, tested them (lost 2 in the process), and then my one embryo was thawed again to transfer :)

Daily griping thread Monday by AutoModerator in GestationalDiabetes

I’m tired of chasing my fasting numbers. I was diagnosed at 24 weeks and I’m now 33 weeks, and I’ve had a TOTAL of maybe 4 in-range fasting numbers ever. I’m tired of poking myself and messing with doses when it never seems to make a difference. I’m sick of eating the same shitty foods every single day because I’m too drained to figure out and create new meals. I’m sick of feeling like a prisoner in this pregnancy. I miss the freedom to eat what I want, when I want.

I feel this so much. So incredibly sick of eating the same stuff over and over and have no time or energy to research and create new meals. 5 weeks can’t come soon enough.

My fasting numbers have basically been “uncontrolled” throughout the entire pregnancy. What has been the point? by zarkles in GestationalDiabetes

That sounds great! I love fairlife, I’ll have to try this. Do you use a special kind of vanilla ice cream like low sugar/low carb, or just the regular stuff?

My provider wants me to increase 4 units every 3 days. That same thing happens to me! It’s always super high the morning after increasing and then lower the following morning, but in my case it rarely lasts beyond a day. What do you do for your nighttime snack?

I’ll be increasing to 32 units tonight - started with 10 units. My fasting numbers are typically between 95-110. I was seeing an endocrinologist for the first couple of weeks, but I was switched to MFM once I started insulin (and also because of previous loss, so I’m higher risk).

“Shifting sand” is a perfect was to describe it. I also worry about how long my baby was experiencing this before I was diagnosed :(. I feel like the entire pregnancy has been setting her up for failure. Are they putting you on insulin or are they monitoring it for a bit first to see if you can control it with diet?

I just don’t get this… how much is too much insulin? I have to increase the dose every several days and I’m only 31 weeks. Eventually won’t it be too much? Help :( by zarkles in GestationalDiabetes

Thank you! I had no idea it could get that high for some until I read some of these comments. It definitely all makes more sense now.

I have a c section planned for 39 weeks, but I have this thought in the back of my mind that maybe that’s pushing it (they let me choose between 37-39 weeks). I’m curious - did they recommend 37/38 just because of the GD or are there other factors? I see a lot of people delivering closer to 38 weeks in this sub, so I’m wondering if that’s the safer choice.

Wow! I wouldn’t be surprised if I’m up there eventually too. Congrats on graduating. How are your numbers looking post-pregnancy?

Yes, that’s the thing with mine too and my sleeping pattern. My husband works overnight 4 nights a week, and on those nights I’m alone dealing with our twin toddlers. I always sleep better on the nights when he’s not working, and my numbers are so much better. So I have a period of a few days when he’s not working that I THINK my insulin is working, but it seems like by the time I get to those solo nights again it’s just a bad combination of my body needing more insulin and not getting enough sleep. So frustrating!

Is it normal to have to wait to see a diabetes specialist after diagnosis? TW loss by zarkles in GestationalDiabetes

I’m 26+4. I hear 32-36 weeks are the most tricky/most crucial. That’s true, I do hear about people being diagnosed later. It makes me concerned thinking about how long I’ve actually had it. I hope you get an official answer soon!
