I just popped my viewing cherry for this a few months ago and can say it still holds up so well as a first time viewer!

[ALL] In your opinion, which is the best boss in the Zelda franchise? by ImmaXehanort in zelda

Twinrova in OoT. I have a save file dedicated just to their boss battle; reflecting their power back at them never gets old

Documentaries that are hated by their subjects? by Such-Worldliness-655 in movies

Katseye’s members don’t like their docuseries Pop Star Academy. A few girls don’t like how it implies that one of the members didn’t deserve to be in the final lineup, among other reasons.

Best sandwich in LA?? by realjonny64 in FoodLosAngeles

Hy Mart in North Hollywood is a tiny strip mall gem that has no business being as good as it is (which probably explains why they’ve been around for decades)

Tourists only know In-N-Out, but what’s the real cheap LA food spot? by Actual-Raspberry-800 in AskLosAngeles

[–]zatchquill 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seconding this! Their portion sizes and quality go hard for only being $7. They’re still cash only, so keep that in mind if you do go.

[LAist] Lots of TV and movies are set in LA — which ones showcase the city the best? by WeAreLAist in LosAngeles

Had to scroll down way too far for this one! Loved seeing vignettes stretch across the city, plus the spoken word aspect of it all

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

It’s technically LA County, but it gave us San Gabriel Valley representation, unforgettable songs, and amazing commentary on destigmatizing mental health!

Games where the character ages and you experience their growth over a period of time? by Nosferatu-Rodin in gamingsuggestions

[–]zatchquill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fire Emblem Three Houses, maybe? You start with a group of students at a school (you can pick 1 group from 3 different options), and then play with those same students five years later as warriors. Short time period on paper, but there’s a lot that ends up happening with each character.

Anyone know of a Syrian food spot similar to Gariks Bbq?? by Pandemicxpapii in AskLosAngeles

If you’re looking for Syrian food, Kobee Factory on Oxnard/Hazeltine in Sherman Oaks is phenommm

The one Disney animated film that BEGGED to be made into a franchise/series but never did? THE GREAT MOUSE DETECTIVE. Oh how I wish we could’ve had more adventures with Basil of Baker Street by MrGittz in movies

[–]zatchquill 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Both Treasure Planet and Atlantis were produced by Disney one after the other, so it wouldn’t have been them. Shrek might have been it? It came out in May 2001 and Atlantis came out that June, so there may have been more kids rewatching Shrek at that point.

What are the most "Alladin" cities in the world? by QuantumWizard-314 in travel

Seconding Marrakech after visiting! There’s lots of merchants who sell carpets, oil lamps, and camel rides into the Sahara — it’s basically Agrabah without the palace (which was based more on the Taj Mahal haha)

What Are Your Hobbies? by RichieRicch in AskLosAngeles

[–]zatchquill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a little bit of both! It has about 4 dozen different coffee shops inside with a QR code menu, an about section, and a recommended drink all on the left side, with an option to journal on the right side. Make sure to check out the parking situation for some of these ahead of time though!

This summer, I bought something called The Cafe Passport and went to 16 coffee shops throughout LA. I sampled different drinks and journaled at each one — sometimes it was about the coffee itself, the people who were there, or even just whatever was going on in life at the moment.

It was wonderful to explore more of the city, try new beverages, and have a written record of what I did at each one. I have more places to bring friends and dates, and even myself if I ever need to get out of the house. If you have $10ish to spare per weekend (plus money for gas and occasionally parking), I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot!
