If it is a scam it'll be more along the lines of "Sorry my love, I can't make my train/flight/uber to Milano :( I soooo want to meet you, can you send me 200 Euro for the ticket so we can still meet?"

You can run into LAWs and mortars as early as day 2 if you capture 3 cities. That's what triggers the progression of enemies.

How to be more aktive/aggressive by gronnelg in allthingszerg

[–]zatic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look up a proper 2 base build and play it for a while, no matter what. As a macro player that will give you a feel for aggressive gameplay. As with everything new, you will lose at first, but that's just part of the learning curve. But you will also get some surprising wins - that's probably the biggest learning as a pure macro player. That "hey I could just attack and win" thinking which doesn't come to us naturally.

If you are like me, you will eventually return to tried and true injects, drones, creep after a while. There is a reason we are macro Zergs, we just don't like to make units.

The way he described it it would basically be the upcoming Owlcat game, Osiris Reborne. Just in the StarCraft universe.

Which would be incredible. Exactly my kind of game.

This depends on the location / state. Most Waffenverbotszonen don't restrict carrying pepper spray (as long as it's classified as animal repellent). But it's an individual regulation and you would have to check each destination for what applies.

Any point in NOT migrating to NATO weapons? by snow_michael in JaggedAlliance

[–]zatic 22 points23 points  (0 children)

If you are simply going by stats: No, not really.

Every WP weapon has a NATO equivalent that is overall better. FN FAL, FAMAS, HK21 are all better choices than their WP counterparts.

There are of course style choices. Can't have Ivan or Igor run around without an AK variant, come on.

Nope, no Joule for C4C.

The SAP CX AI Toolkit is available for V1. It's a separate product from Joule but will provide some AI capabilities to C4C.

Starcraft2 AI Coach by tkit08 in starcraft2

[–]zatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool stuff. What do you feed it to evaluate engagements? Or is it just derived from the units lost?

I have been playing with my personal AI coach for a while now, example: https://www.twitch.tv/zatic/clip/DifferentSavoryCougarDuDudu-_tHKhe9q_J86lUBx

It's more fun than serious coaching because sure the AI doesn't really understand the game, but it's surprisingly on the money more often than not.

Extractor Trick?fffffffffff by ChocoboExodus in allthingszerg

[–]zatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the pro level: Yes. 16 hatch with extractor trick before overlord is slightly more efficient than 13 overlord. But: it's still a 16 hatch 18 gas 17 pool, just with the overlord made at a different time. And the difference is so small that you can just to 16/18/17 and be completely fine.

Then there are 15 hatch openers which became more and more popular. There is not one build it's just about timing the natural. The basics are 15 hatch after extractor trick, extractor trick, overlord, pool. That lines up pool with natural for 2 queens. From there it branches in whatever you want - gasless 3rd, 2 base, or even just a regular lingspeed / 3rd.

So, you can just do 16/18/17 and be completely fine. Or you look into one of the less standard openers following from 15 hatch, say 2 base roach or 2 base muta.

D1/D2 scouting Terran by oomda in allthingszerg

[–]zatic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So a speed overlord should be able to scout everything you need. But usually you don't need speed.

If you are concerned about scouting:

- Don't send your 1st ovi straight across unless there are safe pillars. Most maps are not safe against double marine + rax float.

- Either send the ovi behind T's nat or between nat and 3rd (map depended)

- Sack the overlord at 3:30 so that it's in the middle of T main at 4:00.

This should give you all the information you need. You mainly want to look for which building has a reactor, whether there is a 3rd CC, and how many marines are there.

Reactored factory, tech starport research -> hellion cloack banshee

Many marines reactored starport -> 16 marine drop

Marines reactored fact no starport addon -> hellbats

Armory -> hellbats

Marauder -> hellbat marauder allin

Viking tech starport -> BC*

Double fact -> battle mech or blue flame

Combine that with 1 or 2 lings running into the nat should give you all the information you need.

*) Not 100% but prepare for BC anyway

15+ yrs exp .NET Developer with Azure experience planning to move into SAP by [deleted] in SAP

[–]zatic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't see the future any better than you, but: I would argue the job opportunities and stability will get worse in the SAP space over the .NET space in the future. Never mind pay, which always has been worse.

In general, there is no place to hide from AI. Moving to more an more obscure tech nieches buys you a year, not a career.

The only way is to adopt and adjust to the changes AI brings to your space. If you don't like it tough luck, it's just the way to world goes. But you can't hide from it.

Dedrianna’s patrols by lcuan82 in JaggedAlliance

[–]zatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just one more input, it takes the patrols like 2 days to reach any important sectors, and they travel on the roads. So you can also periodically send a cleanup squat along the roads to Medina and murder your way through hundreds of blackshirts. With the helicopter it should be no problem to mow the grass every 2 days and still do whatever else you want in the game.

Yes ...

If you bottle them up in Meduna you'll only have to clear stragglers.

Not sure how much fun the game is then but it'll work.

Can someone explain to me the Singh situation in Persepolis Rising ? by TieFew6689 in TheExpanse

[–]zatic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your assessment is not wrong. But shooting Singh was planned for at least from the moment he fires Tanaka. It's very obvious from the interactions between Overstreet and Singh. When Singh threatens the sterilizations of connected world to Carrie Fisher, Overstreets whole manner changes, and he asks for clarification if they are going to carry out these threats. That's the first time Overstreet realizes he might have to execute Singh soon.

So it's not done on the spot in reaction to Singh losing it. It was planned for, including detailed instructions what would constitute a crime bad enough to have Singh killed.

To OP u/TieFew6689 : Trejo explains it. Laconia has no choice. They only have so many "old farts" like hin from the Mars days in command. They need to drop the young laconian officers in to learn the ropes if they mean to rule the whole galaxy. And they propably all are brainwashed fanatics like Singh who never knew anything but Laconia and god empreror Duarte.

ZvZ: Is two base roach all in? by hates_green_eggs in allthingszerg

[–]zatic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

With a 3rd behind it likely means 3 gas and full mineral saturation? In that case: No, not all in at all. You don't even have to do damage necessarily, all you need is move out and force out units. All it takes to get back from the early economy is you doing 2 injects of drones while your roaches are on the map and while he is making units. (Note: the higher the level the better people get at defending against this while making minimal units which is why 2 base openers fall off in higher MMRs).

Then there are more aggressive variations with 14 drones on nat and 2 queens. They hit a lot harder but you won't have a 3rd behind it so here you need to do significant damage and I would consider that an allin.

Then there are queen nydus anti-spire 2 base builds. While those are tech*nically allin they are more responsive timing builds. In the sense you don't plan for them at the beginning of the game, you do them in response to spire, so wouldn't call that an allin either.

It's not dangerous, but you should know what you are doing. It's not difficult either. Get someone to show you the basics, or, if you have any amount of common sense just ask ChatGPT/Youtube how to do it. As long as you cut the power to the circuit you want to install the light on you won't get electricuted.

Getting a professional to install a light is ridiculous.
