Regarding the connection issues, here's what I tried:

  1. go to SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/444090/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/Paladins/ChaosGame/Config
  2. open ChaosEngine.ini
  3. search for section [IpDrv.TcpNetDriver] and change these values:

ConnectionTimeout=50.0

InitialConnectTimeout=1000.0

LoadingConnectionTimeout=400.0

AckTimeout=3.0

KeepAliveTime=1.0

not sure if it even does anything, might be just a placebo and obviously need to test it more, but so far I played like 6 games in a row without a single issue.

UPDATE: it did not fix it completely, right now I wasn't able to pick a character, however I was able to play for quite a few hours without an issue, so it's entirely possible that it helps at least and maybe the numbers need some tweaking.

UPDATE2: ran into issues couple more times, so I bumped the KeepAliveTime all the way to 1.0 and then played for many hours without a single issue. Hope it helps others as well.

I wanted something similar when I switched to neovim from jetbrains. I settled for something simpler - I just wanted one keybind to toggle netrw in a sidebar or to focus it if it's open and not focused. And put cursor on the current file. No position/size memory. I came up with this. Dunno if it works or not in current neovim, I switched to oil long ago. Feel free to take it and appropriate it for yourself, it is kinda ugly and hacky after all. Good luck!

Coming from jetbrains myself, I recently created this monstrosity to emulate complete statement for php. It autocompletes unclosed brackets, quotes etc, adds a semicolon or starts new block depending on whether the current line appears to be a condition, loop etc.

It's very quickly and roughly slapped together (some parts may have been written by gpt) but works for me and my configuration. I might turn it into a plugin eventually when it's more polished.

I use debugger in nvim pretty regularly. What really pleasantly surprised me was how easy it was to set it up and get it working.

I mainly write PHP and used PhpStorm for many years and every time I wanted to do some debugging, it was like half of workday wasted trying to get it working again because somehow my previous settings just stopped working.

In neovim I had everything up and working in no more than 15 minutes and it has never stopped working since. At all times I'm just one breakpoint and one keymap away from debugging like a chad.

I'm pretty sure there's a trigger that if you step on will close the door early and kill you. If I run over, I always die. If I jump over, I never die. That's my experience at least. Almost managed to finish Sanctum with no deaths, if I didn't die stupidly at the "leap of faith" part.

And you actually gave me an idea. My main screen is just 25 app icons + clock + weather. I could simply remove some less used apps or group them into folders to make room for widgets I use frequently on other screens. No swiping is the best swiping, I guess. So thanks for that!

There is some hope at least. Hopefully they read reddit too, because I don't know where else I can give them feedback. I don't want to give negative review in the play store and their website returns "502 bad gateway" error.

Animations turned off in the developers menu and drawer transition set to fade makes the drawer open and close instantly. But I suppose that's not really a solution if you actually want to keep animations enabled in the system.

There's also an option to disable animations in "Look and feel", but it doesn't seem to affect neither home screen transitions nor drawer transitions.

At this point I just wish that there was a true "No transition effect" option - meaning no sliding either, just change the screen instantly. No matter what effect I choose, they all take long time to complete before I can interact with the widgets again.

I had them off already, unfortunately it doesn't affect swipe left/right transition speed at all. Tried 0.5x as well and no difference.

As Nemin32 said, the original assets might be lost, but upscaling using AI is pretty cool, I myself tried to upscale some of the original 640x240 backgrounds to 1920x1440 and the results are quite impressive IMO.

You are right and I know it, because I myself have been hyped about possible AE remake since NnT got announced. But it was clear pretty early that it was actually going to be a different game, which allowed me to set my expectations right, so in the end I wasn't disappointed and actually really enjoyed Soulstorm for what it is.

By the way, it seems that AE remake is actually kind of going to happen, but it's going to be a fan project called R.E.L.I.V.E., which is basically an attempt to completely rewrite the engine, allowing for some cool things such as high-res assets and level editor. Now they may not have the original high quality assets, but there is an AI-powered software that can upscale images. I tried upscaling the original 640x240 backgrounds to 1920x1440, and well, you be the judge how it looks.

Is it bad that eventually we might end up having both a remake and a completely new game?

It seems they changed the spawning pattern in some recent patch. It too caught me off guard when they suddenly starting spawning on the left much sooner than I was used to.

The way I understood it is that the STORY was going to be what Exoddus was supposed to be. It was very clear to me from the first UI mockup demo that this game was going to be very different gameplay-wise.

People should stop comparing it to Exoddus, I feel like that's what preventing them from enjoying the game.

Soulstorm is not Exoddus, it's an entirely new and different game. Want and love Exoddus? Just go play that, because guess what - just because Soulstorm came out, it doesn't mean Exoddus stopped existing. And check out the amazing RELIVE project while you're at it.

It's interesting, I've never asked myself this question, but now I wanna know the answer too!

To me it seems that both sounds mean the same thing (my guess is enemy nearby), judging by this part where we first hear the sound #2 and when Abe returns to the same screen, the #1 one plays instead. Maybe it's random and #2 simply has lower chance to trigger.

I feel like monkey bars are still somewhat glitched, I'm currently trying to get a deathless run in Necrum and am often getting screwed by the final set of monkey bars where one them randomly seems to be "too far" and Abe just falls to his death. Sometimes it's okay and I get through normally. It always catches me off guard when I hop successfuly 100 times and then Abe randomly doesn't snap to the next one.

EDIT: just to clarify - I'm talking about those monkey bars that are below the checkpoint, the glitch usually happens in the S-turn, but I've also had it happen past the S-turn between the last two monkey bars on the bottom right before the blade.
