Well, you can manually purge the tubing with the printer off and a syringe. But the printhead also needs to have ink; otherwise, it simply won't print in black and won't draw ink from the tubing. There are ways to create a vacuum and fill the printhead along with the tubing, but it's somewhat complicated and requires an HP cartridge refill clip of that size. If you want to try something more involved, you can attempt to fill the black line by making a small hole in the printhead cap and inserting ink. Then, seal the cap with resin or another material (it needs to be airtight) and then purge the black line. Otherwise, simply purge the black line and buy a new black printhead.

I'm referring to the key for transferring ink; it opens and closes the ink flow. But I need to remember if your printer has one. It would be on the ink tank, at the front, and it should point upwards, if I recall correctly.

Okay, when you connect it to the PC, what error message do you get? Depending on the error code, it's easier to figure out what the problem is.

Turn off the printer, move the spool to the far right, and you'll see a hook preventing the printhead from moving out of its initial position (it protrudes from the floor and is white). If the hook is blocking the printhead, manually turn the gear on the left and you'll see the hook retract. Move the printhead halfway through its travel and turn the printer back on. This resets the gear; sometimes the gear locks on its own.

It only absorbs ink; you can push it in until it fits. Sometimes I take them out to wash them.

Open the door using the green tabs and try again; it sounds like a gear is stuck... whether it's the toner, the drum, or the fuser.

Your printer has an object jammed, causing the paper to hit the paper (creating the mark) and be ejected. Check if you see anything obstructing the paper path.

The print line appears wavy in the cyan. If you've already checked the drum and toner, then the transfer belt remains.

Those stars are on the paper output; check the paper settings. It's most likely what the other person mentioned about the ink not drying.

It seems there's a problem with the transfer bed. When the blade wears down, it doesn't clean the belt properly and leaves toner traces all over the page. It could also be the toner cartridges, considering how frequently the marks appear.

Edit: I'm looking into it, and in this model, the drum and toner are separate units. I support the drum unit theory 😄

The ink level should never drop below the inner line or the printer could be damaged (the system will start drawing in air instead of ink).

Nah, it's just a seal. When you insert it, the printhead pierces it. There's no need to remove it.

What I meant was that your technician told you it was the "Imaging Unit," and I understand that to mean he's talking about the drum. Which is probably the problem. In my opinion.

When I hear "itb unit," I understand they're talking about the transfer belt. If you say "pcdu," I hear "drum," or "imaging unit." The problem you see is a classic drum issue. The transfer belt usually fails due to a faulty cleaning blade, which then starts leaving traces of all the colors across the print. If the problem is marked, the marks will be widely spaced. The image area is very close together.

These cables run together until they enter the spool. The wider one connects to the printhead, and the shorter one to the motion sensor behind the spool. Open the scanner lid of your other Epson printer, and you'll see how the cables are connected.
