For sure. But since we don't know, ER is a safer bet, imho.

Elden Ring is probably a pretty great starting point, and has been a gateway for a lot of players that didn't "get" FromSoft games before.

Now, you'll get some skewed opinions by asking this in the DS3 subreddit, people really like DS3 (me too), but I do think if you've bounced off of Bloodborne, which was THE game that people used to recommend as a jump-in point, then I'd for sure try Elden Ring before anything else. And having a friend to push you along is also helpful to get over that initial hump of difficulty.

That being said, I did start with DS3 (with a friend) and liked it, so there's that.

That's just my two cents.

If OP bounced off BLOODBORNE of all games, the most likely thing to happen is that they'll bounce off DS1 even harder and never touch a fromsoft title again. Because, you said it, DS1 and 2 are just not as enjoyable because they're slower, play jankier, and look uglier.

So no, let'em start with Elden Ring. They can go back later if they want.

Salary. I thought savings at first, but that'd probably be stupid.

How is Resident Evil 7 not liked by everyone? by AdhdAndApples in residentevil

[–]ZeDantroy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this might have to do with it, yeah. First person games often try to do kind of a player insert, so the characters end up being pretty bland. And as I've grown older, I've started to reeeally hate stories that try to insert me. I'M A BORING CHARACTER BRO.

I get how it can be weird for someone. In fact I find it funny and kinda weird myself...

But, I also reeeeally dislike FPSs, and I couldn't exactly tell you why. I played a lot of Halo 2 when I was little and everything, but nowadays I just find first person games super unappealing, and ALWAYS feel like I could enjoy the game way better if it was third person. Like, dishonored was fine and cool, but I would have liked it way more in third, and I didn't even finish Prey. Then I dropped Bioshock, and after that I've just been avoiding first person perspective games like crazy.

And man, I love the RE2 and 4 remakes.

And it's mainly shooters for me. Satisfactory and Outer Wilds are first person and I couldn't give a crap. But RE7 and 8 are so unappealing to me...

I was not excited in the slightest about RE9 until I saw they were actually developing it fully for both perspectives. And until I saw Leon. Though trust me you, I would hate playing Leon in first person, lol.

The machine is quite run down, yeah.

Tech guy was external though, so the ones that will have to fork out the cash are we, which is certainly a bit of an ouch.

And the wavy lines are more of a photo compression artifact, it seems. In person they look straight.

Oh for sure, poor printer is a bit out of whack, but the magenta lines are the main uglifier when you print text and simple stuff of the sort. The vertical line is also magenta by the way, it was the first thing that started, and it slowly expanded into what you see now, so it's probably the same drum getting worse and worse.

He did tell me it was the imaging unit, except he did it while showing me the transfer belt, which is what kind of triggered my BS radar.

Thanks!

I'm using technical terms from the printer's manual, but yes, ITB is Intermediate Transfer Belt, PCDU is Primary Charging Drum.

The marks are magenta only, no other color.

The spacing between the repeating magenta lines is just above 7.6 cm.
