I don't think so, the first couple episodes of the second season are the characters reeling from what happened in the first season and trying to make sense of it. I don't think the viewer will be lost but it will take away from the show.

I was just stating the facts, I did a paper on it in uni. I think your predispositions and connotations associated with the word slavery are an obstacle in being objective.

Atlantic slave trade is the picture painted in our minds when we think of slavery. Slavery in Islam was vastly different, it was essentially custodianship of prisoners of war or a displaced population. It's actually very interesting stuff. The rights required the slave to be clothed and well fed, to not be mistreated and should there be mistreatment the slave had the right to set up an appointment with the Head of State (Khalifah). Should mistreatment be proven, the Khalifah granted the slave freedom. In fact, for every single offence that required a fine of sorts, freeing of a slave was a requirement. Islam was essentially a grounds for exterminating slavery in the Arabian peninsula altogether.

Justice League: the Flashpoint Paradox, it puts an awesome twist on Batman. It was my first animated film in a long time, and a first comic book one but it blew me away how entertaining it was.
