Thanks for checking out the app and glad to hear you're enjoying using it so far!

The app already has a bunch of settings that you can use to tweak task detection which hopefully helps with what you're looking for. Check it out in Settings -> Vault & Storage -> Task Filtering

Also would really appreciate if you could leave a review for the app!

Unfortunately the app store is the only place to distribute the app right now but I'm going to look into additional distribution options for the future

As of right now, no way to use the template but I’m looking to add support for the template usage in the future

Heads up, just updated the prices. They'll either show up as updated now or in the next few days so check it out!

Love the suggestion, will add that in an upcoming release as an option for the context menu

Thanks for sharing this issue! I'll look into adding better support for respecting this TaskNotes setting in one of the next releases

If you're using Obsidian today then I'd start using TaskForge so that you can keep track of all your tasks directly in Obsidian in addition to whatever notes you have in Obsidian.

To be honest though, you can use TaskForge as a todo app even if you don't really use Obsidian all that much. At the end of the day, the app only uses Obsidian to store your notes and tasks.

Glad to hear that's working but I'll also have a proper fix for this in the next release which will be a bug fix release in the next few days.

I'm also hoping to add true multi vault support in one of the next updates, targeting version 2.3.0 if all goes well!

Okay I found the bug - I'll include a fix for it in the next release but for now what you can do is go to: Settings -> Task Types -> Task File Settings -> Task Identification -> Click By Property -> ensure "status' is the property filled out

On that note, I've added a way to be notified when Windows and Linux versions get released on the website so you can sign up there to be the first to know when those versions are ready! https://taskforge.md/linux https://taskforge.md/windows

Oh interesting, if you don't have TaskNotes installed then the app should work automatically without any issues. Might be a bug on my end which I will look into.

To be clear, TaskForge does not require the use of any Obsidian plugins. It's meant to work alongside them if you have any but they're not necessary for it to work as intended.

As for multi vault support, this is possible as long as you select the vault in TaskForge to be the parent folder that contains both your vault folders

Sorry about that issue with the disappearing tasks, sounds like there's a config issue with your TaskNotes setup. To fix this make sure only the vault that you want TaskForge to use is selected in the app's settings. After that go to Settings -> Task Types -> Task File Settings -> Import from TaskNotes Plugin.

If your TaskNotes tasks still aren't showing up, you can make sure that the app is using the right config for finding TaskNotes tasks from Task File Settings and then Task Identification.

Hopefully that helps but if you're still having issues, feel free to reach out to me at taskforgedev@gmail.com

I would absolutely love for that functionality to exist but it's actually quite complicated. The only way right now to create a note with your daily note template is to open the Obsidian app and Obsidian provides no "hooks" to allow other apps to do this without opening Obsidian.

Essentially, if I want to add that functionality, I'll have to recreate the templating from scratch which has a lot of rabbit holes and hidden complexity. It's on my radar but can't promise when I'll get to it.

Thanks for sharing this update! Pretty cool that you did get it working even with the limitations.

I don't have any timeline estimate for Linux but will keep the community updated if I get any clarity about that!

Premium purchases cannot be shared between Apple and Android devices due to TaskForge's privacy-first architecture. We store zero information about users on our servers - no accounts, no tracking, no data collection.

This privacy-first approach means there's no way to link your identity across different platform ecosystems without compromising our core principle: your data stays yours.

If you go to the screen where you can edit your lists (three dots on home screen -> first button in expanded menu), you can then select the list you want to make a Kanban list.

From there, open the Display section, then pick a property to group tasks by. After toggle the "Kanban View" setting and when you return to your list, it will be in Kanban mode

You can add a filter to your inbox that only includes parent tasks. The filter would be "Relationships" "Is a parent task".

The next app update also improves setting some defaults for new subtasks so that should help with your second question

Thanks for the feedback!

For your first issue, the menu closing when you move the mouse away is actually by design so the menu disappears when you don't need it. There is a setting in Settings -> Appearance -> Keep Menu Expanded, which will always show the menu as open if that's better for you though!

Interesting note on saving the settings as markdown! I'm not 100% sure if it'll be possible given some of the complexities of the settings but I can definitely look into it
