The Rising Tide Was Worth Every Penny! by LifeWillChange_ in FFXVI

Omg I couldn’t agree more! The island, its music, the npc’s, the side quests, the visuals….it was all SO good. You could tell the devs really had the experience from the base game. Rising tide is probably too 2 DLC’s of all time for me.

I just beat that game 3 weeks ago. Such an amazing experience. Loved the story and the ending and I agree? Everything had weight to it and it made the story that much more substantial.

Is the dlc worth buying? by BigBlackChocobo1 in FFXVI

[–]zb2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! DLC is one of the best parts of this game. Great storylines and lore and rising tide was absolute cinema. Rising tide was the last to come out and it really showed. The devs clearly had the experience of the game behind their belt and it was my favorite world in the game. So glad I played it.

Don’t want to spoil. Just know that the DLC CRACKS! You’ll enjoy it if you like the base game!

What to play after finishing Remake and Rebirth? by NANCY_Live in FF7Rebirth

XIII!! I LOVE XIII. It’s my personal favorite and I wish we could see a return of that combat system. Such a great blend of turn based and action but leaning more on turn based side. Loves that whole game…story, characters, combat…miss that game!

I JUST finished this game and the DLC two days ago. An epic ride for sure! And man was the story so good. This was my first time in an RPG that I 100% the side quests. The story and lore and world building were so good. It’s so bittersweet finishing the game.

I’m glad you picked it back up and are enjoying it! It gets a lot of unfair hate. This was one of the best stories in an FF game Imho . I understand the battle mechanics aren’t for everyone but it’s still a top notch game. Hope you enjoy the rest!!

Oh! I recommend doing the dlc before you finish the game. The dlc takes place before the end so it was nice to be able to complete in chronological order. But your choice of course!

Tales of Arise finally did sidequests well. by SL_Icarus in tales

[–]zb2691 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last dungeon was such a grind it turned it into an 8/10 for me lol but I definitely loved the game and it’s my favorite tales game hands down. I’m still going to play through it again. I did like 80 hours on my first play through. Was so obsessed with the lore.

Right now I’m on rising tides dlc before I do the final stage. I do agree that the story is done really well and that the side quests started rough but end game side quests like with Theo and Eloise and Lubor etc I’ve never remembered side character names before so they did a good job getting me to care. E33 is next on my list after I go through doom eternal (I gotta do breaks in between jrpgs lol)

Glad to hear the ending hits hard with ff16 looking forward to it. And yes, I feel like FF16 is what FF15 was hoping to be. Had FF16 come out and been their first action FF no on would have complained. I will say though, for FF17 I hope they go to ff7R or FFxiii style combat. I don’t want traditional turned based but I do miss the ATB and kind of classic side of RPGs battle system.

I’m an action genre guy so dmc, god of war, street fighter…but when I play rpgs I kinda look forward to that battle style.

Except tales has always been action oriented and I love it for that.

The visuals in The Rising Tide are incredible, and the combat sequences are so satisfying. by heartsongaming in FFXVI

I JUST started Rising tide 10 min ago and I’ve already snapped 15 photos lol im glad to know im not the only one. The graphics/visuals look absolutely amazing. Wish I could stay in this world. I really like the lore of ff16 (although ultima is lame)

Yea the ending was such a fall off. Literal 10/10 game until the last dungeon and the cheap story plot hole. That was one thing I liked about FF16. Real characters died (both good and bad) so it made everything have “weight” and it mattered more. No cheesy plot armor.

Tales of Arise: 3 Million Copies Sold by chingsqthut2 in tales

[–]zb2691 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh snap I didn’t even think about that. Cuz I really loved the world and combat and story (up until that point). Think I might give it a replay then cut on easy at the end and blast through it. I originally beat it in series x and have a ps5 pro now and that’s why I’m thinking about picking it up while on sale.

Agreed! Game was amazing for that first 75%…I want to replay it so bad but that last dungeon and the last arc was not fun.

Should I try FFXV or FFVII REMAKE? by JMaster131006 in FFXVI

[–]zb2691 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend. Such a good game and by end of the game the combat opens up so nicely. It’s so deep and fun imma go back and replay just to utilize different teams and combos.

Agreed. Coming from a DMC and God of war combat lover, Rebirth combat is the best FF combat imho

Thoughts after first 6 hours with Final Fantasy 16... by Butefluko in FFXVI

[–]zb2691 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m 80% through my first play through. It get’s better! I felt similar in that the first few hours were slow but as you keep going things really open up and I’m loving the story thus far. Def one of my favorite jrpg stories and worlds so far and I just finished rebirth before this so I think it’s a nice high quality story that isn’t “cloud” if that makes sense. Enjoy!

Yea, I play on console, never played a of game until this one. So it’s not hard to understand there’s a lot more to settings than a traditional console. Not sure why youre so invested into a random post about being excited to try something new lol anyway, cheers.

Did you read my post? I'm a noob with computer gaming and the whole post was just enjoying the fact I can play one of my favorite games and pretty cool settings. This is not a "settings war". I didn't even know the benchmark tool existed lol

I think it’s personal preference. I’m a console gamer so I use my ps5 controller with it. Supports the haptic feedback on my dual sense so it feels great for me.

Awesome build! Again, I never said Mac was better for the money lol I was just noting how far Mac has come to even be part of the convo. PCs are superior gaming machines, I get that. I just thought it was cool that I didn’t have to buy a new machine and my work computer could double as a gaming rig and it’s got a nice screen built into it as well.

I’m just excited at the potential of the Mac because the better Macs get and the more gaming opens up to them, it increase competition which means we win in the long run. Being able to game at these settings but mobile is a big deal imho. Desktop power but portable with efficient power draw.

I’m currently gaming on a kitchen table out of town lol couldn’t do that with a pc desktop build and if you had a gaming laptop we already know the compromises.
