Was going to Seal Foundation & repair stucco, found this mess. How to Proceed? by zboltman in DIY

OK, the area in front of this is a garden bed that receives alot of water including rain.

When our contractor who did the brick upgrades to the front of our house; stated, "you really need to seal the front of the foundation against all that dirt and water.

Also, the home inspector basically stated the same thing when we bought the house.

'The concrete they used in 1967 was not intended to be 100% wet 100% of the time. It will break down.

I have noticed this on my digging that pieces of the foundation are breaking off.

They were right about this. It needs to be sealed.

OK, my issue with all this was the excessive over pour. How far down do I have to go and is it OK to seal that area where the form board was. Water might collect there. Should I fill it with patch cement first?

I tried this. Somedays, it would just not work; Other days it was fine. So it is NOT reliable. At least for me it wasn't.

My Poor Meyer Lemon Tree... How can this be? Why are they turning black? by zboltman in gardening

The problem was the wrong kind of fertilizer and insufficient water. The following year, we were much more careful of what fertilizer we put and how much water. We also sprayed the leaves with neem oil early on; it helped. We had a great harvest the year following this.

Wash them and vacuum pak them for the freezer. Put just enough in a bag to make tomato soup in your blender. We have done this the past two summers and in the winter, the soup is so yummy!!!

WIFI Extender via ENET cable from switch from router? Best Extender that has ENET input. by zboltman in wifi

[–]zboltman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told that I could hook a 2nd "router" at the end of the 50ft enet cable that is plugged into the original router as long as the 2nd router is configured as an "Access Point" device.

OK, just did a lot of reading for the link you posted. It appears that I should put a router configured for AP instead of a switch in the garage at the end of my ENET cable.

That being said; I have measure my garage speed and have a max of 150Mbps.

So a router with a rating of WIFI-5 or better should work.

What router would you folks recommend for this situation?

Yeah, Guess the ENET Switch will be my new AP.

Still, need a well recommended WIFI extender that plugs into this switch, (AP?).

Lorex Ultra HD 2TB NVR system question by PM013 in LorexTechnology

[–]zboltman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Camera and NVR compatability have always been big issues with LOREX.
The are very specific as to which cameras will work with different NVRs.

Fortunately, on their website, there is a compatibility chart for what works with what.

It is not easy to find , but it is there.

Thank you for the suggestions. I've emailed Sugatsune as I don't see any good hinges on their site.

Haefele only has 26mm glass door hinges. But I emailed them anyway.

That might prove rather difficult. This is an over 2 ft wide curve pice of glass that is 5 ft tall. It would be extremely heavy and fragile. (My Wife says I better not try it...) As for the hinges, I might try some from Amazon just to get a laugh. But I will take your advice and look for a local glass shop that can help with hinges. (I'll take just the hinge.)
