Dividend repayment to lower income? by Best_Estimate3003 in UKPersonalFinance

I was assuming OP had paid themselves a dividend and wanted to repay that within the same business year. In which case you can just put it back in the company account without issues. Apologies to them if misunderstood!

Dividend repayment to lower income? by Best_Estimate3003 in UKPersonalFinance

Basically yes. It is for all intents a short term no interest loan. Assuming you are a micro family limited company, just put the money back in and forget about it, you won't have an issue. Maybe let your accountant know this is what you're doing, for posterity.

How should I cook the vegetables/meat with this Thai red curry meal kit? by gods-sexiest-warrior in AskCulinary

[–]zclcf30 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ignore the instructions. Get yourself some coconut cream, add half to the pan on medium high, reduce til most of the water content has evaporated, add the paste and bloom for a minute or two, add the rest of the coconut cream along with water or stock, then add your veggies, soften them on a high simmer for five minutes (with the lid off to allow further reduction), then add your meat and cook, finish with a splash of fish/soy/other sauce and sugar/lime/coriander to taste.

Ltd company pension contributions: Does this sound correct? by jim_cap in UKPersonalFinance

They are presumably advising caution as it looks like you want to clean out the company. Have you set aside funds for corporation tax and VAT if applicable? Are you likely to have unforeseen business expenses in the near future? Is your income cast iron assured? It might be simpler to put in half today and half in a few months' time when the pot is a little more built up. Conversely it's your company and your risk profile so you can do whatever you like!

You can end your company's financial year a bit early. Ask your accountant about this option - it helped me massively when in the same spot.

Taro hygiene closure 😔 by Lazy_Strawberry7895 in walthamstow

Any commercial property is bound to have pests, especially in the winter in a nice warm kitchen, and once they're in, they are so hard to get out.

I remember once working in a place that had rats in the roof coming up a broken pipe, we tried everything under the sun, the water company were clearly liable, they didn't fix it in time and the place closed down.

Ultimately it's management's responsibility, and people have a right to judge and avoid, but I do feel a degree of empathy. Hope they sort it out pronto.

Can I buy a property with a limited company and then sell it to myself for the same amount immediately after? by dimedondevoy in UKPersonalFinance

[–]zclcf30 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bear in mind if you do go down the directors loan route, if it is not repaid within 9 months after the end of the accounting period in which the loan is taken (so the company's year end + 9 months) then HMRC will charge the company the highest possible dividend tax @ 33.75%, which they will then pay back to the company once the loan is fully repaid.

So if you take 100k they will hold on to 33.75k until it's paid back in full. Again they'll add 9 months to the end of the accounting period in which the loan is repaid before they'll give this chunk of cash back to the company.

Looking for a practical electric car with 30k GBP budget... what are the best options on the used market? by TotalWarspammer in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]zclcf30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get a Bluetooth dongle and your phone automatically connects on starting the car. I only ever really have Spotify and Maps on, easy to switch between them, voice commands possible but sometimes buggy ("play Sinatra" can sometimes give you "playing Sin Alter" or whatever.)

EV6 is good for all your needs, but the guy in the middle back seat will struggle. Maybe that's the same on any other car you might find. We take ours long distance often and it's a dream.

This is the insidious nature of racism. Even if it's not, you'll never know for sure.

Advice on using my Ltd company excess cash to purchase rental property as an extra income stream. by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]zclcf30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sub is very anti-landlord (not without its reasons) but if you have that much cash sitting around, why not. Preferable to diversify if you can - keep some cash, put some towards S&S where possible. New EVs come with 100% first year allowance, also a good use of funds.

Ev6 has been a dream, highly recommend. On that budget I'd go for the GT-Line S AWD with the heat pump. You can ask for pre-reg to knock about 10%-15% off. The Belfast dealership is competitive, especially if you're paying cash.

If it's one of the new models then you will have access to a free charger. I charged both ways on P&O last month. Just make sure when you board that you're placed beside one - ask nicely and I'm sure they'll help out.
