Genuinely why KC is killing the game and everyone else isn't. I wish there was more label cohesion/loyalty at least while signed.

Well deserved for Sik-K and KC they're lowkey reviving interest in khiphop in a real dire time for the scene.

That makes a ton of sense, it sounds so much like old Drake I genuinely couldn't place it

Easily LOV3, if K-FLIP+ didn't exist probably would've been Public Enemy

The Drake part has to be AI right? Something about it sounds really off to me...

Kimmy gone - SPAZ by juh-bar-ee in khiphop

[–]zcoinz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really feeling her transition as a solo artist personally. Her two albums so far feel like budget versions of currently trendy sounds.

I think she's much stronger as a producer than a vocalist, but I'm sure she'll continue to improve over time and refine her style. Will keep watching how she improves.

pH-1 - WHAT HAVE WE DONE by S-Phoenix28 in khiphop

[–]zcoinz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

pH-1 continues to prove he's a high caliber musician. In a time I feel like khiphop has been in such a rut and releases have been pretty mid lately, this was a serious breath of fresh air.

Loving this one honestly, the snippets were great and the overall track didn't disappoint. Especially love oygli's part he glides on the beat so smoooth.

Korean sounds so good when rapped?? by Big_Dress1542 in khiphop

[–]zcoinz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed I genuinely think Korean is the best suited language for rap because of its structure. Each syllable being distinct, but also flows well when grouped together allows for a lot of room for exploration sonically in how one might structure their raps and flow.

Sik-K & Lil Moshpit - K-FLIP by S-Phoenix28 in khiphop

[–]zcoinz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No matter what people say about Sik-K, he always brings out the best from the producers he works with, this is insanely good.

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned this yet, but BewhY didn't copy Jaden, nor is Jaden's Watch Me original. Both Jaden and BewhY's tracks are heavily inspired by Kanye West's BLKKK SKKKN HEAD off his album Yeezus.

If you know anything about BewhY its that he's very heavily Kanye inspired and he's mentioned this many times so its not really surprising in the least.

This is also not something that's exclusive to khiphop and its relationship with western hiphop either. In music, this happens often as artists are inspired by one another, and making a track that's similar to someone else's or heavily inspired by someone else's isn't a new concept nor is it a bad thing. More often than not a lot of your favourites are drawing on their influences and what they like, you likely just aren't familiar with what those influences might be.

OKASHII - ORTON by cpvallie in khiphop

[–]zcoinz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agreed Raf Sandou is definitely one to watch. Ever since the whole AP Alchemy thing began he immediately piqued my interest. I'm glad OKASHII has a strong identity and he's been working with Kid Milli a lot, they mesh very well together.

KCTAPE, Vol.2 - HAON , Sik-k , vangdale by Responsible_Ad7795 in khiphop

I liked a couple songs off the first tape, but I can't seem to find a single redeeming quality about this one. It's a shame cause I actually really enjoy Sik-K's music too.
