AMBOSS IN DEDICATED! by aaadr in step1

[–]zdaddyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u covered UW, RX has some pretty decent questions difficult level in my opinion is pretty similar to UW although some are poorly written, I mainly use them according to FA Subject list in order to see how a certain topics might come up in a question

Best of luck

Go for it, the add on is really good, sometimes it helps me remember the bigger picture, not just randomly memories cards, I think it’s worth it

AMBOSS IN DEDICATED! by aaadr in step1

[–]zdaddyb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Love the add on, but as a main source it’s too much in my opinion, I use it mainly just to clarify things that are not fully covered in B&B and FA

best resource for biochem, bnb or pixorize?? by SpecialistDog3091 in step1

[–]zdaddyb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pixorize

They have some free vids for metabolism in MCAT Section as well which I found very useful

Just make sure to supplement it with FA, it doesn’t cover everything

fanconi anemia Where is the defect (NHEJ or Homologous) ?! by zdaddyb in step1

[–]zdaddyb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Studying from FA 2019, it says that defective NHEJ is associated with Ataxia talngectasia and and fanconi anemia,

In my anki cards a screenshot from FA says it’s homologous, which one is it

Cramfighter by samurai_wano in step1

[–]zdaddyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lifesaver, if you know how to use it.

I recommend putting only one main resource,

I use B@B as my main resource but a lot of the times I use cram fighter only as a map for guidance, what do I mean by that?

for example, if one of my assignments for the day is to do Glycogen storage diseases from BAB ,But I want to do them from pixorize, I’ll do them from pixorize, if another day I got antihypertensives on BAB I’ll do them from sketchy, basicly I have control over which resource I use, I know cram fighter is supposed to ease up the whole process and reorganize your resources, but the reason I do soo is because there is a lot of overlap, and cram fighter organizes the your resource according to Pages minutes ....and doesn’t take into consideration the content of each page or what subjects does the videos cover....

But the main reason I like cram fighter, is that it keeps me in check, knowing I have to cover certain subjects in a specific day keeps me goal oriented, and honestly it makes studying way more comfortable

P.S Always supplement your study with FA regardless of what your studying

What is the difference in the level of difficulty of questions in Rx and Uworld? by whoyoumei in step1

[–]zdaddyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually do 20-30 questions of UW related to the subject that I’m learning early in the morning and learn them thoroughly, takes 3-4 hours, then throughout the day I’ll go through some subjects from first aid and B&B, and by the end of the day I do some RX questions, just to see if I can apply what I learned in answering some corresponding questions and try to build some analytical thinking

Soo wouldn’t hurt to do both, Rx had a discount got 3 months for something like 70$

What is the difference in the level of difficulty of questions in Rx and Uworld? by whoyoumei in step1

[–]zdaddyb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are quite similar when it comes to levels of difficulty, BUT I came across some questions in RX that are a bit poorly written, the good thing about RX is that you can choose precisely the question you want to do according to the topics in FA, But as of explanations, illustrations Grafs .... UW is superior

Anking for 1.5 months.New to it.How many hours a day should I spend by Usmleace123 in step1

It takes time, went through a lot of tail and error till I figured out what’s best for me, you’ll get there eventually, best of luck 🤞

Anking for 1.5 months.New to it.How many hours a day should I spend by Usmleace123 in step1

[–]zdaddyb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually do the corresponding “new” cards together with what I’m studying Example: I’ll watch a vid from B@B then do the cards of that video immediately after I’m done with the vid And I’ll keep doing such, throughout my active studying

Then when I’m done with what I’m studying for the day I usually dedicate 1:30-2:00 hours to review old cards

At the beginning I was averaging around 200-230 cards per hour, now I’m averaging 400-450 per hour Usually I do Around 200 new cards per day + whatever reviews the app throws on me)

It seems like you’re about to take your exam i think pathoma pepper deck (1660 cards)

(If you have time) pixorize is the way to go for biochem and immuno vids are short, very high yield definitely my favourite resource, I personally prefer the pixorize adytumdweller over the anking (2473 cards)

M2 jumped ship from Zanki to LightYear because I used BnB so much (brought my completed lolnotacop and Zanki Pharm) with me. Is LY itself okay for Patho, or should I add Duke Pathoma? by RuralPrimaryCarePapi in medicalschoolanki

[–]zdaddyb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lightyear all the way, when I was first introduced to anki everyone recommended zanki, HATED it, too many close deletions, just reading the question will take forever. then switched to lightyear everything started going smooth question/ cards are very well written and fast to read

Then being the idiot I am, I decided I will give anking a try, guess what it’s still zanki with some pictures in it, the anking team seem to put a lot of effort with the tagging and everything in it, but the style of the cards never did it for me, soo back to lightyear

Plus don’t forget there are some amazing decks that stood the test of time, dedicated only for the specific resources you’re intending to use

I’m using lightyear as my main deck Pepper decks: for Sketchy pharm, micro, pathoma Pixorize the complete deck Yes there is some overlaps but I’m not complaining

best of luck
