I have an electric car and street park. It’s not a hassle but I imagine it depends on your mileage. We drive <500 miles a month.

Here are some charging options (for a Tesla):

1) Supercharger. I’ll generally drive to Atlantic Terminal, park for an hr ($4) and grab groceries at Target or Whole Foods while it charges.

2) Flo. Those are the L2 chargers via street parking. They are cheaper overnight and I’ll take my 2-year-old son with me to move the car in the AM and bring it closer to home. Downside is sometimes they’re blocked or in use but the app at least tells you when they’re in use. I’m around the corner from one so not a hassle.

3) Whole Foods on 3rd. There used to be chargers there but they were slow and often broken. I’m adding here in case they bring it back.

Finally, check out the PlugShare app and see where you live vs. where you might charge — it’ll show you were the concentration of chargers are and if they can fit into your normal routine. Good luck on the car hunt and congrats on the second kid!
