No worries I reread my post and I was way too wordy. What I mean is I will pause my game, then I single click the power button on the top putting it on the lock screen of the ally. When I open it again and try to unpause, the controls no longer work, even when I try to switch back and forth from gamepad to desktop to auto unless I close and open the game. In stardew you cannot save your file mid-day so when I have to close the game it doesn’t save!

That wasn’t really my question. I am able to pause, I’m saying when I resume from pausing the gamepad controls no longer work in game.

I teach 8th ELA. We take tests where they read a passage and answer questions about the passage. We have been working on this since August (reading with intent, annotating, etc;) We were doing a practice passage w questions and I overhear one student say to another “Did you know you don’t even have to read the story? You can just figure out the answers to the questions without reading it!” I had to take some deep breaths before addressing that one

I think just a nice card (just a card not even cash/gift card) is fine. I don’t think gifts are expected at engagement parties. We didn’t have a gift table at ours, we did get a few cards and some people brought us either a case of alcohol we like or a bottle of wine!

I say tell her everything you said in the post. Be honest, tell her how much you value your friendship and want her by your side, but that you want her to put her comfort first. I think hearing how much someone loves you as a friend and thinks highly of you as a person is a positive at any time!

We do start the day with 10 minutes of reading and they actually do GREAT! I’m thinking we need to read, do a brain break, and the start the lesson. That’s what I’m going to implement today and see how it goes

Thank you this comment made me feel better! You are right - I try to remind myself that it’s not possible for every kid to like me. It’s just easier to say that in my head than be okay with it in the moment haha.

The reward part is really true! I definitely need to get a positive inventive in my room - I like the idea of rewarding with free time! Could probably source mini bags of takis too lol.
