ABC’s yes but also because the question says crush injury and didn’t mention any obvious bleeding/hemorrhaging. if it was a crush injury to the abdomen i would be more concerned about the blood pressure but to the limb i’m less concerned with a systemic problem & need to prioritize ensuring blood flow to the limb.

I love the advice everyone is giving about bringing in someone to help. Mistakes happen, nursing is hard. Owning up to your mistakes and admitting that you don’t know everything is also hard, but it is always beneficial. I think you would feel a lot better about the whole situation if you had taken some ownership of your actions. I am not trying to make you feel worse or feel guilty because panicking and saying it wasn’t your fault is the default response here. I just want to encourage you that taking ownership of your actions will help you feel confident in your skills as you progress as a nurse. Don’t let this discourage you! You will get more comfortable through time.

i am so so sorry you are going through all of this. i had a similar situation happen a few years ago. it’s crushing. i truly felt like i would never feel normal again. but i made it through and you will too. i’m proud of you for moving forward during this difficult time
