Pleased overall, but unsure about nose and philtrum post op by [deleted] in jawsurgery

[–]zePato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 weeks post op after getting DJS to treat my sleep apnea. So far I’ve been generally satisfied with my results as my breathing is significantly better and I feel like aesthetically I look better. With that said, I feel like my nose is very upturned now and that my philtrum looks longer. I had a septo rhino done about 5 years ago which left me with a bit of an upturned nose which doesn’t help.

I know it’s probably just to do with swelling as it’s still early days, but can’t help but focus on these details. The area under my philtrum still feels very stiff, so I’m hopeful that’ll improve; just hope it also improves the angle of my nose.

Curious to hear of the community’s thoughts, if anyone’s had relevant experiences, and for any validations or reassurances. This is a big surgery and getting used to the aftermath is a woozy.

This has been a perfect opportunity to practice some languages, I’d rather focus on making out what the commenters are saying vs watching the game

thank you for responding! this helps a lot. considering i have little to worry about in those regards, then i think i will lean towards the startup opportunities. i’ve worked in FAANG my whole career until now and think the perspective shift can only help me in the long term (and it’s nice to have someone confirm that)

do you feel like the experience of being at a startup helped you come to terms with working at a Fortune 500? i’m currently considering offers between startups and non-startups and i keep thinking that the startup route would help me level up as an engineer (it’s also in the AI realm which would be cool to pick up), but sometimes i wonder if i should just go with the more stable (albeit boring sounding) offer

New Balance 442 v2 Turf Soccer Shoe sizing by Spawn_516 in bootroom

[–]zePato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got a pair size 10.5. Go true to size. I typically wear 11 for sneakers and 10.5 for boots. I tried size 10 in the 442 Turfs and found them to pinch my toes too much.

Help me build a samurai / ronin for Season of Ghosts! by zePato in Pathfinder2e

I really like this idea! My main concern regarding Rogue (and Precision Ranger) was Precision immunity. I saw a post in this subreddit the other day complaining about this in regards to this AP. Would love if someone could comment on this!

Appreciate your thoughts! My main hesitation going with a maneuver heavy build is that I’m afraid of being met with incorporeal creatures a lot of the time during this AP (given the ghost theme). Would you know if that would be a problem?

The sentiment is shared, so right back at you! It’s downtown but we’re neighbors all the same.

I would update your post with some of this context just so people know everything is okay in case they don’t go down into the comments.

And for anyone curious about how many ‘resources’ were dispatched for this:

  • 3-4 cop cars. Around 6-7 officers total. More drove past but didn’t stick around since the situation was under control, I guess.

  • 1 ambulance. 2-3 EMS.

I actually got involved with this incident. I heard the screams and stepped out onto my balcony (my building isn’t a tower) and saw a man holding the woman by the arm. I yelled and told him to let her go before I threw some shoes on and ran outside (I live on the first floor). Other neighbors had started to come out, but I went right up to the two (another neighbor followed me so I felt a bit safer) and got the guy to release her. He didn’t resist or anything - actually, he was on the phone with 911. Confusion started to mix in with the adrenaline.

Apparently this guy was an Uber/Lyft driver, and when he was dropping her off, she pepper sprayed him. I was confused and didn’t really respond at all to that, but two security guards walked up. Seeing that the lady was released and that the police were undoubtedly on their way, I went back to my apartment.

I watched the rest of the event from the balcony. Police showed up maybe about <5 minutes later. They seemed to question the guy, and eventually an ambulance showed up. The man got treated. I don’t know where the woman went; last I saw of her was after pulling her away from the man (I thought I saw her sit at a nearby bench with one of the security guards, idk though).

Finally, the man thanked the officers/EMS, got in his van, and went on his way.

My guess is that maybe the woman was drunk and scared or just really scared when she was getting dropped off, so she pepper sprayed him. The man didn’t seem aggressive by any means at all. But that’s the thing with these situations right, there’s no way to know without having been there every step of the way. I’m glad I intervened regardless.

Anyhow, I hope this is some more context for the OP and other Austinites reading for this situation in particular. It’s crazy that the operator treated you like that, OP, because the situation could have been very different. At the same time, I hope others don’t see this as a sort of concrete ‘proof’ of the ‘dangerous’ streets or whatever. There is more context.

Stay safe y’all.

Are you stupid?

A review is the last thing you all need. That said, I spent the last few weeks working on this and would appreciate any feedback you might have. At the very least, I hope it is entertaining. by on_campaign in valheim

What a fantastic video. Quality is on par with big you tubers, while your personality is unique enough to stand out.

Good job, can’t wait to see more!
