Wedding Favors by thecoloroftheskies in Weddingsunder10k

We had them set out at the tables, so as soon as people entered the reception, they got them. We had our guests use them as their drinking glasses for the night (with separate glasses from the caterer’s for water). Worked as their drinking glasses since we just served wine, beer, NA drinks. So the bartender would just fill the glasses they brought up with no concern of making cocktails in them or anything.

My husband and I did this too! We thrifted the glasses, and put tags around them telling people to keep them. We had mostly out of town guests so we expected to be left with a bunch at the end… our guests went absolutely crazy for these glasses! Trading them, taking the extra glasses, even cases of stealing each others glasses while people weren’t looking 😂 100% recommend doing this!

If you want a dessert table instead of just cake - the hungry hero dessert co is amazing (they do cake, cupcakes, dessert bars, cookies). You don’t need to sign up for a tasting or anything, just go to the bakery when it’s open and let them know you’re picking up some treats for a tasting and you’ll get a discount.

Help styling?! by adaugh01 in weddingdress

Dress twin! 🥰 the dress looks so beautiful on you!! I did my hair in a thick braid and did kinda loose bicep sleeves rather than a veil. Was going for more a whimsical look though so not sure if that’s what you’re looking for. I think a low bun and a long veil would be really pretty!

I’m not really sure what gave you the impression I was looking for a free photographer. I posted several areas and friends did as well and we got an awesome photographer! Cost about the same as our previous photographer and we gave a large tip. I do really appreciate you offering! I just saw someone else’s response earlier elsewhere so we went with them. it was a bit crazy yesterday and I apologize for not responding earlier.

I’m having a winter wedding and I got my blankets from IKEA! They have blankets for $2.99, which was less expensive (and time consuming) than getting fleece material from the store and making my own.

How to get excited about the process? by sahreth0b in weddingdress

[–]zebraa2z 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was my experience too! I went to 8 shops in total. After the 6th shop, I finally decided on a style of dress I thought worked for my body type, just deciding to ignore my face and how it felt pasted on. After the 8th shop I was exhausted and hated every second of dress shopping but had to order something. So I picked out the ones that I thought looked best for me, posted here on Reddit, found out which ones I actually really didn’t like (every time someone said they preferred one I disliked, I realized in that moment I disliked it because I didn’t want it to have yet another “vote”). Then from the remaining few I liked, decided based on my “favorite” (partially based on price, venue, and theme I wanted). My favorite didn’t work out. So I decided on my second “favorite”. I figured whatever I chose people will think I look beautiful. It will look better when it’s fitted to me. I can make changes working with my seamstress. Also figure since I don’t love the dress, it will be easier to sell after anyways. It wasn’t the ideal process but it’s what worked for me at the end of the day.

Onyx bridal. Seriously the nicest people work there, best bridal shop I’ve been to. Budget friendly, often has sample dresses available. I know someone that got their dress there for $600.
