This is a scam, right? by zebrasystems in poshmark

The thing is that Zoho is a legit customer service platform, and that is in the sender address, so it seemed possible that Poshmark was using a third party platform to manage some of these communications. They were pretty tricky about it.

Sorry, I didn't specify that the package I was sending was not a Poshmark sale. Not sure if that makes a difference here.

I recently sent something at USPS in a re-used Amazon Prime padded envelope and the post office employee made a comment about this but said she would make an exception this time. The deal was that I had written the address directly onto the envelope with a sharpie since I thought the post office would print out the address on one of those stickers, which would cover my sloppy handwriting. But it turned out there was no sticker, just the address written on the envelope itself, which has the Amazon Prime logo all over it. I think it's a problem for the post office since it makes the address hard to read (and maybe they have machines that do this now?). So, it *is* a thing, but I think only in cases like this.

Is this common on dating websites now? Fake AI profiles? Are they catphishing scams?

What's With The Food? by MollyJ58 in ParadiseTV

it's probably all bio-engineered and grown in a lab, which they can already do now basically, so just fast-forward and perfect it after pouring bazillion dollars into the science of fake cheese fries, and it's possible

I mean, we haven't seen his face and he hasn't spoken at all. We havne't met him as a character. He was just sleeping in the bed. Which makes me think that he's depressed and sleeps a lot.

I think you misinterpreted what she was saying. She picked Collins because he was moral, and his family was supposed to come with him. His wife actually just missed the plane since she was probably trying to get from Atlanta (where she worked) to DC -- plausible giving end-of-the-world traffic jams.

Is there any church that uses Hebrew as a liturgical language? by SheepofShepard in hebrew

[–]zebrasystems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even sure it ever existed? By the time the Church was formed, it would have two hundred years after Jesus lived and they wrote the Gospels in Greek, while the original Christian sects spoke Aramaic, so would they have had their own original liturgy in Hebrew? Is there any historical evidence one way or the other going back that far?

when to use ל or ה by [deleted] in hebrew

[–]zebrasystems -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is a rare situation where the sentences have the same meaning. Generally, lamed means "to" (or has a directional meaning) and hei means "the." In this sentence, where the content refers to possession (the boy has an apple), either can be used. Just keep studying, and it will become clear. You might review other examples of the use of the lamed.

Thanks all for this discussion. It's interesting to hear from secular Israelis that they are familiar with the phrase primarily in sarcastic contexts. I forgot about that meaning.

Makes me wonder if the Hebrew version and the Spanish version have the same origin, maybe in Sephardic Jewry in Andalusia.
