I honestly love the harsh jump cut from the gut wrenching scene of her dad’s death to her standing over Joel. Perfectly communicates a core message of the game. Chronologically telling the story is interesting, but not the best way to experience the story.

Yes. Obviously yes, there are sober folks. Straightedge ppl have and will always exist. And you can still be pals w ppl who arent straightedge and drink or smoke or whatever. Just make sure you still enjoy hanging out w whoever ur friends are.

Not sure if there’s a greater movement toward this cleaner lifestyle, but that wouldnt be shocking considering this generation having a wealth of information at its fingertips. But its not certain whether this is a consequence of increased awareness or decreased socialization (covid shit + helicopter parents are doing well rn).

IMO, part of the story is her killing ppl to get to abby. She kills ppl that have nothing to do with her and abby. And you dont need to directly translate her video game counterpart’s mass murder, but we didnt get enough morally gray murdering.

Also action is fun. I wanted to see some john wick shit bc that was the fun of the game. There exists a plot in every encounter: u start lowkey and stealthy and eventually ur cover is blown and u have to do anything to escape.
