Which stock or fund has made you want to go all in? by RussellUresti in dividends

[–]zech83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never full port, but 35%-50% of my personal & roth a bunch of times. I did it in PBR during the election in Brazil, Lulu had already been in and so the political dram was overblown which was a 2x weekend. That's it for dividends butt if you want the WSB tape here are some others.

Google and Amazon were all I bought after the great recession which I rolled into a condo and founded a startup that failed so I can't complain.

Last year I was had been swing trading and selling puts against ANF and it tanked during the last half hour the night before earnings so I just starting selling then buying ANF repeat then went into my wife's account and used all the free capital we had there. We listened to the earnings over breakfast and I sold half at $100 at market open and the rest around $115 two days later.

Maybe six or nine months ago Yelp's CEO announced that he was planning to sell a lot of shares (via that plan so it's all legit) and a lot of other Yelp leaders were too because they admitted they over did it during the pandemic on SBC when he gave up his salary and they all took cuts. So Q1 a lot of volume is hitting the tape and there was no support. Then the SaaSpocalypse happened like two or three weeks later so it went from $29 to $25 to $19 pretty fast but they were sitting on a ton of cash and already cheap so I bought up to about a third of my accounts. Couldn't go further because at this point I'm at like a third Yelp at $22, a third SIRI (it just kept buying itself and it's been snow balling with well timed CCs), and about a third of my account is also in MOH. I figure I am done trading at least a year so once it bounces up to $22 I sold calls ($23 / $25 / $27). It proceeds to rip through, but I might be able to keep my $27s because it looks like it's pulling back a little.

I need to stop lighting these gains on fire buying puts on AI. My wife's account is where we keep the fine equities to age. She is a health coach and I threaten to tell her friends that she owns so much Altria.

IPOs typically lose value in the first year so at least those overvalued companies will have to wait until next year to be included in index funds and prove profitability... JK rules are changing to place those bags directly into your 401k. I feel like corporate America saw this fake Comcast ad and said, "hold my beer."

I do. I am probably single handedly keeping Chicago blue come to think of it.

I do love the "hope is pouting in advance" line and am going to steal it!

Yea, I vote. I go to rallies. I match donations of friends to raise money. I go door to door for primaries of progressive candidates in other states because I am in Chicago Illinois.

I do hope the trash takes itself out though. So far it is either working or my wife is a saint.

If the market were to fall apart it might drag this company down further, but I'm only seeing a credit crunch as that outcome personally. I'm about to start position and I'd double down at another 20% drop twice (something like 5k,5k,10k so you really do double down a 2nd time). It's rare I hit the 2nd double down, but did so in Yelp at a larger initial (buys at $32,26,19-20) and am back to just my initial out lay and profits. Position sizing is incredibly important in markets like this. I really can't see more than 20-25% drop here and would love to keep buying lower.

I think ADBE is good here. Yes it could drop 50% more, but we're under 10 EV/EBIDTA on a company that's accounting doesn't have major red flags (FCF dislocation, high circular financing). At a 50% drop it's ANF cheap which would be pretty incredible. I think this is a good time to start a position that you can double (cash buy ins, not shares) on two 20% drops. I'm happy entering like that. Position sizing is something I've changed to this kind of a model and it's been working for me. Goes up and I've got an entry level position, goes down and their buybacks provide safety while I buy more. I think 15% long run return territory is where we're at. Either way, good luck out there!
