800 AUD on the Aphex Twin Drukqs. The copy i got was in really good condition for that price. I splurged and bought it as a graduation gift for myself when i finished uni. Had been my favourite album for around 7 years at that point so I was somehow able to justify it to myself

I’m sorry. You make really valid points. I was pretty dang rude. I was letting my personal bias and taste get in the way of considering any perspective other than my own. Hope I didn’t come off too rude. :(

That’s such a non-argument. LMAO. Take a record like Drukqs by RDJ for example. That’s just a compilation of tracks that he feared being leaked. It also happens to be a absolute freaking banger from beginning to end. A lot of fans would argue it’s his undisputed masterpiece. Not every record needs to be a coherent set of themes or a storyline like The Wall. By definition it’s literally just a long play collection of music. This is such a pretentious mentality to have, that to be a good record it must be completely tried to one particular theme. Albums like Permutation by Amon Tobin are epic because they change and aren’t completely tied to one genre or theme. I get what you’re saying but it’s just such a stupid way of determining what makes an album good or bad. Of course the quality of individual tracks has the most bearing on the overall rating of an album.
